Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think he’s a sensible choice but I think he’s too switched on to come to us and would turn us down.
I don't think he does. I don't think he'll get a move to a City, Woolwich, Liverpool anytime soon. Newcastle, United and Villa aren't looking for a manager. Maybe he has a chance of getting the Leverkusen role if Alonso goes to Madrid, and obviously that's a more attractive role.

As for leaving or staying at Brentford, I think he's done all he can there. The club is set up as a PL outfit now, he might feel he's ready for the next step. Spurs could be a Champions League outfit next season.

If he can bring Mbeumo with him then even better.

Been saying since last season that I refuse to judge players until they play under a proper football coach who coaches.

C'mon mate..on one hand you're saying we have a top half squad. Not a top 4 or hell even top 6. But top 10.

We ain't getting a top manager with our sales pitch to him that he'll have a top 10 squad given to him. We'll get second tier or unproven types who will give us corresponding results.

Yes Postcoglou's second league season has been crap, but no manager is winning anything with this squad.

Ange managed 6th last year with essentially the same team. Why cant we be 4th next season?

I think it’s because when he came in he was a bit of an unknown maverick and he got those results in the first 10 games.
Since then, he’s been found out, doesn’t have a proper plan B and is a stubborn ass.
Our results in those first 10 games gave us 6th place.
Our form thereafter was pretty average and it’s got worse as time has gone on.

Romero is a world.cup winner, what are we saying he's good enough for Argentina but not for Spurs.
Yeah so is Stephane Guivarc'h. Djimi Traore is a Champions League winner too.

Seriously, pal...have a word with yourself. First, Qatar corrupted Fifa to get that tournament. Then they gift-wrapped it to Messi. That's how your beloved Romero won his WC medal. But that's actually quite fitting when you consider the guy's persona.

Remember Van Der Ven's early performances, he was dynamite before he got injured
Wow, he can run super fast, he must be a great defender then. Can't head the ball, gets caught out of position or loses his man 10 times a game...who cares eh.

Keep digging. Lemme know when you hear us.

Porro is weak defensively but is probably our best crosser of the ball.
Cool, so a top 4 club with genuine ambition should settle for a very expensive RB that doesn't know how to defend? Oh wait, we aren't such a club.

For the record, I like the kid, he runs his nuts off and yeah he scores the odd goal and bags a few assists. But come on, if the lad is an elite full/wing back, I'm friggin Pelé.

Madders......yeah, we could do better, but he'd be a useful squad player.
That's it, a squad player. And certainly not a member of the leadership group.

Angelos has lost the fans, lost the Spurs board, lost the players and even lost himself. And he knows it - and the whole football world knows it.
Angelos is too stubborn to change his tactics even though they're proven not to work in the EPL for the 2nd season now. His tactics are found out and the players knows it, and the fans knows it. Possession football without penetration or goal threat and a defensive set-up that often is in shambles is a description of failure. Spurs was the team to watch for the 1st half of Angelos' time at Spurs ....but then things started to unravel.
Bare a minor miracle over the last 5 EPL games we all know that even winning the EL is not going to save Angelos' job.
Keeping him is just prolonging the toxic atmosphere.

What a lot of people meant over saying a trophy over top 4 was a reasonable top half finish and actually lifting a cup. Not 22 fucking league defeats and 17th in the table. Unacceptable considering the rhetoric from the owners (watch us rise) and the manager about a winning mentality. Considering his comments after city (like I said at the time ok then let's have those winning standards) he has to face the music and accept he hasn't made that happen. Not only has he not made that happen he now has the cheek to get on the fans back now we're asking to win games of football on a regular basis that he isn't achieving. The bloke is a walking contradiction. He's OK dishing it out but he sure as hell cannot take it back.

Has he prioritised the Europa League?

Because we’re using the same players, in the same way. It’s just that in the EL those same players are getting results against Elfsborg, Ferencvaros etc whereas in the league, where the level of team is higher each week, the ‘tactics’ and plan are shown wanting.

I think his only priority is opposition he’s capable of beating, and that doesn’t appear to be Premier league level. Not sure he’s made a conscious choice of priority, more that the league has found him out and he isn’t up to it.
Agreed.

As I've said before, playing dreadfully in the league does not equate to "prioritising the cups".

But yeah, let's sell half the team, roll the dice and start from scratch.
We're having the worst season in decades...you wanna blame it all on Ange and let Levy & the players off the hook, fine, you do you. You wanna think we need no new players or just a couple to seriously challenge next season, be my guest and keep hitting that crack pipe.

But weirdly Ange wasn't about when it all went to shit under Ramos, AVB, Sherwood, Jose, Nuno, Conte...even Harry & Poch eventually. I know someone who was, though.

The fact our wage-to-turnover ratio has reduced drastically over the past few years, that's gotta be Ange's fault. Guess we can also blame him for the stadium costing 500mil too much, the naming rights fiasco, hiring Paratici when a ban was looming, wasting millions on Ndombele/LoCelso/Richarlison & co.

And yeah obviously Udogie stops running back cause Ange. Sonny's got the worst first touch cause Ange. Brennan doesn't track back cause Ange. Bentancur gets a yellow every game cause Ange. Bissouma does balloons cause Ange. It's literally moronic beyond belief.

When a tree is rotten, pal, you can treat a few branches here and there, it'll hold out a bit but it'll never flourish again. And one day it'll come crashing down. Only thing to do is chop the friggin thing at the base.
