To be fair the three most creative players in the team were injured in Maddison, Kulusevski and Bergvall.The players played very committed defense. No real offense was generated apart from the rather fortunate goal- stats agree.
I wouldn't say there was much of a gameplan at all, other than the usual press hard + angeball, and be very committed defensively, so it's hard to see how the players could really 'hijack' it. Our opposition was of terrible quality and failed to significantly test us.
It was a rather bland battle of two offensively poor teams and we won out with marginally better defense. It also happened to be a game that awarded Spurs their first trophy in a very long while.
