THE DAYS OF ANGE BALL is OFFICIALLY OVER

Such much for stubborn old Ange and his suicidal high line.
Never mind craving flair and flamboyance or the blind stupidity of the gung-ho charge.
it's now sit back & defend and then counter. . .

<will he still hold on to the job after ditching his principles - we are not who were are?>

People have misunderstood Ange's philosophy.

The Chelsea game, when we were down to 9 men was not about playing a high line for the sake of it. It was about teaching the players that you never give up, and you always try and win the game - no matter what. You don't sit back and accept defeat. You don't do 'damage limitation', and you don't wait for the other team to make a mistake. You work hard and always believe you can win.

what's that got to do with High Line kamikaze chaos Football??

Onya Big Ange. As a fellow Melbournian, I'm so proud of what you have achieved on the world stage.

Our prime time sports radio station lead their morning drive segment with this monologue. Was shared with all the emotion all of us sports mad fans here are feeling. Perhaps a little overzealous in his defence of Ange. But, for those of us here who love Spurs and have dreamed of an Aussie doing something special with this club, we are a little stung by his treatment from fans and pundits alike. He's one of our own (even if he does follow the blues..).

Anyway, what a special, pinch me moment we have all shared today. Me, with my 4yr old son dancing and singing at the final whistle then all morning whilst we dropped the other kids at school. This is what makes sport so special. Moments and memories. COYFS!!

Levy OUT Angie OUT. Bottom of Premier League almost Relegated winning the Also Ran trophy to another nearly Relegated.... Oh yeah 😂. Tottenham has Lowest Standards of any Big club. Go ahead and have Angie manage another year. See how he manages in champion tournament. Such a miraculous run as the Bottom feeder.

I was certain Ange was gone no matter what the result. Now I'm not so sure.

It isn't that Spurs won the Cup, it's the way they won the Cup. It at least from the knockouts onward wasn't won with Angeball, it was won with pragmatic adaptive football.

I've never thought Ange wasn't a good manager. I just came to the assumption that he wasn't versatile enough for the highest level. The game against Ipswich at home was the one that did it for me. All to play for at the time and we gave a team with no chance every single bit of help through our tactics to beat us. Which they said thanks and they did.

Ange shouldn't change things because some bloke on the internet says he should. He should change things because he has eyes and can see what we all see.

Angeball has its place in the right situations. At the highest level it can only be just one part of the armoury. I think Ange thought he knew most of it but has found these last two seasons he like most in life is ls still learning.

I think he will be a much different tactical coach next season, and a much better coach from the last two seasons experience with Spurs.

I just dont know if that will be with us or someone else.

It was an absolute tactical master class from Ange.

Man United would have gone into this game expecting us to play out from the back and leave space in the full back positions. Instead, we played long balls and kept out defenders deep. We switched between pressing and backing off throughout the first half and left United unable to gain any momentum by consistently bullying them. Full shithouse mode.

As predicted, the game ultimately came down to the quality of goalkeeper. Vicario almost with a howler; saved by VDV - but it was Onanah's slo-motion reactions that was their undoing.

I thought I would be Ange out even if he had won this but to be honest, I didn’t realize how big this moment would feel.

The League Cup win didn’t feel this way and I wasn’t old enough to truly experience any of the cups previous to that.

For several months, I have been calling for this man’s head and now, I can’t help but love him. Everything he’s said pre and post game has been a total breath of fresh air, from sticking it to journalists that have been coming at his throat to just championing and standing up for the club.

It may be more likely than not that he crumbles before Christmas and is gone before 2026 but I will always be thankful for Wednesday night in Bilbao.

17th place means no one has a claim on a job, regardless

Ange explained this in the presser.

He made the call in January that there were not enough players free from injury in the squad to compete across multiple competitions, and he decided that it was more important to win Spurs a trophy, than battle week after week to finish 6th. By that stage we had dropped too many points to realistically play catch up. 17th or 7th - who cares?

He made the right choice, and that is why we have a trophy, and that is why we have Champions League football next season. And hopefully, that is why Romero & Porro will still be here next season.

If you think that makes this season a failure, I'm not sure you will ever be happy.
