It is a very good thread, those Tifo Football guys are great.
From that analysis, and from reading and watching some other stuff about Ange, it seems like his methodology is to be pretty rigid in the way his teams play. Not that he would set up the press in the exact same way at Spurs that he did at Celtic, but that he wants the squad to have a very deep understanding of what they do and to impose that on the game rather than being reactive.
Very different tactics to Conte, but an analogous philosophy. They aren't Plan B guys. The answer to problems with Plan A is to do Plan A better.
There are benefits to that. I think it helps for integrating depth and youth, the instructions are very clear and that experience can accrue over time. And I think it's obvious that your basic tactical setup will be different as Celtic in the Scottish league versus Spurs in the Premier League. He's not an idiot.
But still, I agree, it's scary to think about our bunch of wasters being set out to play a high risk press against top sides who can ease right through it.
Slot or Nagelsmann would be in a position to do some version of the same thing though. As indeed Mason did the last few weeks. This is the tactical transition we've chosen.
I just watched a video where he said if he has a must win game he isn't going to go in defensively, he's going to go in more attacking, more aggressive and go for it. Players are going to like that, but my goodness, it's going to be a huge difference for them from Conte. It will be sink or swim for a lot of them.
