I actually like that he said Dane Scarlett had to take some responsibility for his lack of game time at Ipswich - basically telling our youngsters they need to be working their asses off whilst on loan and doing everything they can to get games.

Right attitude, imo.

The only time we scored more than 3.

Reading is helpful.
Yes, reading is helpful, and if you'd read the thread you'd realise there were a number of people who said 3 up or 3 or 4 up. e.g - see below.

And my reading skills reliably inform me that "3", or "3 or 4" includes 3 as the relevant treshold.

Agreed? :D

ANge big FAIL = failed to give the youth a chance when the club is facing the greatest injury crises in its entire history plus 3 players missing for internationals .

Yeah I know he brought on Veliz for a few minutes ...
Donley and Phillips - none

Surely if we are up 3 or 4 goals - stop briinging in Dier or skipp - give the youth a chance -10 15 minutes
When was the last game we were 3 or 4 up?

AP always gives youth a chance if he thinks they're ready. He may feel that throwing them into a high pressure environment may do more damage to them than good at this point in their career, after all, he watches them in training daily whilst we see fuck all.

Considering the amount of youth we currently have already starting for us, to accuse him of failing because he hasn't fielded 2 kids is a bit kneejerk don't you think?

Don't forget that Rolf was a hero there, and here, friends with Her Majesty QE2 no less, all the time he was fiddling kids.

And I'd gone for the four goal game, the one we actually brought Donley on for in that exact scenario - the only realistic time that scenario happened. and didn't mention the Bournemouth, or City games when we also scored three, because those games were very much in the balance.

We were pegged back to 3-1 very quickly at Bournemouth. Ange was probably worried about a capitulation

I think perhaps withdrawing the unpleasant "reading" comment re my perfectly correct post would be a suitably amiable way to treat a fellow Spurs fan.

Were you aware of the lengthy run without trophy for Spurs and does it impact a club?

I've said before there can't be a desperation to win a trophy because it cures all ills because it doesn't. As soon as you win one, what do you think the fans are going to say? 'It's OK, you don't have to win one for another 15 or 16 years?' No, they'll want more.

So, it is about putting yourself in a position where you can compete for these things regularly and give yourself every opportunity to win every competition you're in. It is not just winning a trophy and thinking that is going to be enough. And a football club like this, which is the context for what I'm saying, there would be a demand from not just supporters, but players and everyone involved at the club saying we want more of this.

So, I can't just sit back and say, 'hold on, I've just delivered a trophy. Shouldn't I have some latitude to not be successful?' It doesn't work that way. I am determined to bring success to the football club but it is not a desperation for something that will give us some respire for what is ahead. When you're a big football club there should be a constant demand for success.

Good Answer. Wish people would stop whining about a fucking Trophy.

I wish they'd just stop whining...

"If you lose you're a nonce, when you win you're a genius." Or something like that, in his pre-Burnley presser.

nonce apparently means idiot in Australia. Not so much in the UK.

EDIT: My grammar went haywire.
I nearly tore an Engineer's head off in Oz when he called me a nonce, I completely lost the plot! Had to be 'escorted' out of the office until the Red mist subsided.

He was close to tears apologising when he found out what it actually means over here.
