All the next manager after Conte had to be was a normal bloke who wanted to be here. He had to play attractive football and not be a dick.

I like and Ange and am loving our start but the quality of the team and squad still concerns me and will be a huge factor in how we do. If we continue to fuck up the window and Romero gets suspended hand has to be replaced by Sanchez and Bissouma gets injured and has to be replaced by Hojbjerg and Richy continues to fire blanks then all of a sudden the manager will struggle big time and it probably wont be his fault.

Let's enjoy it right this minute because it could still go tits up pretty easily for him.

Life as a Spurs fan has been pretty miserable the last few years. Heck, life in general is tough and the future can look really bleak if you really stop and think about it. As a team, we are indeed balancing on the precipice of a complete disaster. But no more so than any other team if certain key people got taken out.

Genuinely, I have no disrespect for people who are more focused on what might go badly. It’s just a way of coping with life’s uncertainty and it’s neither right or wrong. I’m just at the stage of my life where I’m looking for all the little things that bring me joy in the present moment. Spurs and Ange have done that big time all this week, for which I’m grateful.

Happy to go with all the silly chants and the Ange hype for as long as we keep trying to play good football. And if we keep doing that, then greater glories should lie ahead.

bentancur back next month so that helps with CM depth. front line is a bit of a concern, unless veliz can offer us something in a couple months? CB is still a big issue. romero or VDV out and all of a sudden we are shit at the back again.

Has a real way of communicating and it’s not a shock that he gets the buy in he does from the players.

Not sure how to take that last sentence. Guy’s been here for a couple of months and he thinks he’s got the license to disrespect a club legend?

With Harry Kane our finishes have been 5th, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 4th and 8th.
That's European football 7 seasons out of 8 I think?
Harry was a huge part of that achievement . Whether it can be seen as success is another matter.
There are of course many other factors to consider including the spending of rival clubs that kept us from gaining higher places.

I like Ange, i think he will be a good manager for us and its nice not to have a Mourinhio Nuno, Conte in charge but the hype is doing my head in a bit. No manager is a miracle worker and there are going to be ups and downs this season. Fans wanging on about Angeball this and that , the chanting for him which even he says he hasnt earnt, just think its all way too early to be building him up like this, it will only lead to absurd expectations of a fairly threadbare squad.
Just enjoy the ride mate 👍

Ange clearly thinks that’s not success.

He seems to have the same type of standards of success as fans. At least he understands them and has the self belief to say them,

I agree to an extent that he needs to prove himself which he admits himself.

However having a manager that believes in attacking football, seems to believe in the players and is generally positive in his approach is a breath of fresh air.

Another poster on here once said that the manager has to be can do positive in nature to offset the negative cold weird vibes of Daniel Levy and our board. All our managers that we have loved like Jol, Redknapp and Poch have been this and he seems to be like this.

However this up tick in feeling shouldn’t cover for selling our best player and as yet not getting the players we need in with the cash.
