Half your outfield players being starters vs 2 is a massive difference. It doesn't matter if we have better backups if our players have no rhythm.

Pretty strong. Only two of the starting eleven, including the goalie, were second stringers. Palhinha, Traore, Tete and Ream all played well. Actually, the whole defence and defensive midfield game was good.
Fulham was less convincing in attack. Lots of possession and opportunities, but as usual since Mitro’s departure, they have real trouble finishing. Luckily for Fulham, this time Spurs did the finishing for them.

Nope you don't need to break anything down.
I do not care if there's 5 better teams than us in the country on paper, football isn't played on paper if it was Man City wouldn't struggle to beat us at our ground every season. We have been more than capable enough to beat them in the league season in seasan out so why should you not expect to beat them in the cups?
Every other club and fanbase in that top 6 have the aims and expectations of winning something, what makes us so fekin different, we are not Brentford mate there's a reason why we are apart of the established top 6.
Ask yourself if we are more than capable to beat those 5 teams on our day and that will give you the answer as to why we should be going into every season expecting silverware.
If you don't aim high what are you actually aiming for?
You can aim as high as you wan't. But being realistic will be more accurate. No wonder you are so disappointed if you truly expect those things.
Any team can beat anyone on any given day, that isn't really any argument. Just look at the bookies who deal with maths (for the most part) and then see how realistic it is we win. We are 6th favourites to win the league. 7th Favourites to win the FA Cup. We can hope we win, but what logical, sane human expects to win them.
I'd be absolutely keen to know what your own expectations are for the club.

Long term growth. We just lost Kane, have a new manager and being realistic, a very poor squad (in terms of depth). If we play positive, fun football and can challenge for the top 4 I'd say that is progress after the last few years and would be something to build on.
That to me, seems reasonable.

Yes, Ange's team selection was a little bit extravagant but it is his 4th game in charge after a disrupted preseason. He may be regretting it now but Jesus fucking Christ there are some entitled cunts in here. We lost a tight game against a good team away from home with a second string XI.
He's a great manager, but he will make decisions that we don't like. And guess what, he will get it wrong occasionally. But at least he is thinking long term, unlike the last two oxygen thieves we had running the show.

Ange isn’t going to win every game… this year is about getting the team to play at a higher level. And playing at a high level means the entire squad can play at that level.

What are your fucking expectations?
We finished 8th last year, just lost arguably our greatest every player, have a new manager trying to implement a completely new style of football after 4 years of utter shambles. It's his 4th proper game in charge after a disrupted preseason and he still has deadwood all through his squad that Levy is yet to clear out.
Exactly what are you expecting?
Emerson is almost an outfield starter. Same with Skipp. Davinson played 80 minutes in the opening fixture. These aren't exactly "fringe" players if you look at it like this.
