Yes. We have had a great run of fixtures so far, with said fixtures we should actually be in a really solid position. Not to mention we’re at the less physically demanding point of the season where our style works best.

We won’t be close to 3rd this season. *If* we win tomorrow (big if given Villa are pretty good, people seem to be counting this chicken before it hatches) then we should follow up by beating Ipswich but then it’s the Etihad trip.

I think we probably do win tomorrow (our home record is good at the moment) but it won’t change my overall view of where we are at. We are volatile and struggle to chain wins together in this league.

Clearly many other teams are too which is why we could be 2 points behind Villa + Aresenal tomorrow.

Surely you understand what keeping the pace means???

We can do results including last season or we can just do this season. One has us on a very bad run in the league and the other has us on a very bad run in the league .. take your pick.

We are currently 10th. We lost our very last league game to Palace for their first win of the season. It’s not going well. People can cite x wins in x and include all the cups but that’s the league situation.

Hopefully we win tomorrow and then beat Ipswich with a trip to the Etihad on the horizon.
Someone in the Villa team who has not scored for over a year…..break their duck today probably.

We were by far the better team against Leicester, Newcastle and Brighton (first 45) and should have baged an additional 8 points which would have seen us on 21 points and in the top 3 going into todays game against Villa. The reasons we did'nt pick up those additional 8 points was due to AP's stubborn/rigid 95 minute highline attack attack approach. Please Mr Postecoglou understand this is The EPL, the hardest league in the world where every team can fuck you if you give them the chance. Just tone it down when necessary Mate!

No, it really wasn't.

Ange Postecoglou says he aims to turn Tottenham into a better all-round team than when Harry Kane was the focal point:

🗣️“That’s the aim! Don’t get me wrong, if Harry was here I’d be a very, very happy manager. We’d find a way to fit him in.”

🗣️“But you are right — part of him leaving is that opportunity for people to grow. And we’re still in that phase. There’s more that the guys have in them. I keep saying that some of them have a really high ceiling.”

🗣️“Some of them are still trying to stick their head up a little bit more every time. Then you have a performance like [against Crystal] Palace and you feel like ‘Nah, they are going to cower again and not stand up even further.’

🗣️“But you need to go through those experiences. I can definitely see that growth. Once I can cajole and convince them to just keep going, don’t be afraid, don’t fear failure and stumble, criticism and scrutiny.”

🗣️“There is that opportunity for us and it’s the only way we’ll become the team we want to be. We won’t do that by bringing in another Harry. Those players are rare. For us it’s going to have to be a collective effort to get to where we want to.”

Woolwich goal, nothing to do with high line.

Palace goal, nothing to do with high line.

Brighton goals very little, if anything to do with a high line.

there are definitely ways to blame.ange for some of the goals we have conceded but in my opinion very few have anything to do with a high line attack attack attack approach.

Can you be more specific about what you mean?

I think Postecoglou should be supported. He just took City out of a cup. And it's not like he's been given an opportunity to sign top-level players. He got Solanke (who is a Liverpool reject from a while back) and Werner (who was a Chelsea reject). Not easy to climb the table like that.
