Yes they have, but the fact still remains they didn’t win it the season before Ange took over. Who knows what may have happened if he wasn’t there. And ftr if I recall correctly Rangers have still won more titles overall, just.
Well they won it with Brendan Rodgers again since. Thing is they haven't won the title every single year but overall they have been by far the best team.

Do you think it's a difficult league to win for Celtic? Take any manager from the Prem and they'd probably win the league with Celtic.

Whats the alternative watch us carry on like this? Was sacking Ramos being trigger happy? There comes a point when keeping a manager is just doubling down on the initial error to hire him.

Our form over this season, last 25 games this calender year is shocking. There is nothing being built, just a bunch of dissalusioned players with hamstring issues. We owe Postecoglou nothing, he's had a fairly transient career of 1 or 2 years in most jobs. He hardly showed loyalty elsewhere. He isnt some ex Tottenham playing legend or has a load of credit in the bank with us. He had a chance, longer than some who were sacked for less and he's not upto it.

Will we be here again in 18 months time? Probably. But thats still no reason to keep a man so out of his depth.
He has also spent a lot more than most and bought overpriced average dross. Who we will take a big hit on.

I don’t want Levy to make a knee jerk reaction and send Ange packing at this time. Give him until the end of the season when we’ll know whether he has a chance of working out, it will be cost free as he will be out of contract and we can use the time in between to scour the manager market and sort out a good fit. Otherwise, we get a grand disruption and a Mason type caretaker.
I’m not Ange’s biggest fan, I’m really not convinced about his tactical abilities but I’d really like to give him a good chance to prove himself. We are still in all the cups and within range of top four and I feel that now we are well into this season a hefty disruption could be counterproductive.

I thought Ange contract was 4 years?

It's far fetched to look at Celtic winning 12 of the last 13 titles and conclude anything other than Celtic are utterly, utterly dominant. Yes, he won the league, that's great. If that's a marker of success then we should go all in for Steve Gerrard who won it for Rangers after a 9 year drought and who's success wasn't replicated after he left. Surely that's more of a feat than winning it after a one year blip?

And as for total titles, that's irrelevant to this. Rangers who went into liquidation and started life in league two are not the same Rangers. What Rangers were doing 20 years ago spending money like water has nothing to do with the Rangers Ange was up against.

I'm not saying Ange out, but this bigging up of his winning the SPL just doesn't add much to his case and it seems desperate every time it's trotted out.

He's so far out of his depth it's a joke.

He's not the only one to blame, of course, but you can't sack the players, the bald bastard upstairs is going nowhere, so get him out and roll the dice. Who knows, Daniel might luck out again like he did with Jol / Redknapp / Poch.

Only thing for certain is this can't continue. Say what you want, but overseeing defeats to Bournemouth, Palace, Galatasaray & Ipswich, with home draws to Fulham & Roma (despite taking the lead in both) in the last few weeks is not what he should be getting out of this crop of players. We're never winning the league, but we're better than this. And that is on the manager

Get him gone right now. If he's still here in Jan, season is a write off.
Knowing levy he’ll get another Aussie manager

For a mid season change I think that Cocneicao is the best bet.

But ideally we need someone that is good at/accepting of promoting from the academy and developing youth.

We know that Levy is hesitant to splurge on ready made names. So we need someone that is happy to be a talent developer and who can get the most out of said talents.

My two personal favorite picks would be either Valverde at Bilbao, or Hütter at Monaco.

Valverde would be very hard to pry away. But he is clearly good at developing players given that Bilbao refuse to sign players that aren't connected to the Basque country. And Hütter will sadly never get a fair swing in England if he comes because the English press will eat him alive given that he is a Austrain named Adolf.

Yes what is it that levy said last season and Ange must have agreed? We wanted a manager who is keen to work and develop youngsters and work with our academy players. Apart from Moore his basically ignored our academy players this season and last. Yes he plays some youth that we have purchased at high ish prices. On the whole he ain’t developing or promoting our academy players. A lot of clubs who had their youth teams do well in their various competitions would be trying to find a path way to first team squad for those players. We have sold or loaned out most of our PL2 players. I still think no reason why Alfie or Donley shouldn’t have been given a go this season . They would helped with the Europa early games as well.

He has this reputation as a care free easy going Australian. However his sarcastic response to media questions, even distain for football journalists, comes across as looking like a n prat. Now he is arguing with fans, he did it last year in the City match, now is getting into screaming matches with the clubs travelling fans.

He is anything but laid back. Overly sensitive to criticism & appears to have a chip on his shoulder. An aussie mate of mine reckons this stems from his very modest playing career ( I think he maxed out as semi-professional in Australia), plus the fact Australia is considered a football backwater & therefore Ange for a long time has never been taken serious given he was a glorified pub footballer from minnow football nation. He has had his achievements in Australia belittled by the press. Basically half his football career is considered not serious.

Needs to snap out of it. Because as soon as Conte started badmouthing the club, I knew it was over. If Ange keeps getting into shouting matches with fans he will accelerate his exit.
It’s strange how his Celtic achievements are made out to be like something special. He is ten a penny Celtic manager. Every manager they have succeeds. There is nothing special about what he did at Celtic to any of their other managers. Ok he won the league cup to give them a treble but they are in a treble hunt every season. Obvs all teams do lose games so they may have got knocked out by teams some years. It’s like the ‘great’ Leeds team of the 70s they didn’t win that much. Think people should really look at his Celtic trophies with some perspective.

I struggle with the injury thing for two reasons.

1. We’ve put out the same stinker of a performance against Leicester and Brighton with a fit squad

2. How much of our injury issues are down to Ange himself? The way we play and train puts the players bodies under huge strain. We’ve had the same issues at the same point the last two seasons

That blame also lies with the board for leaving the squad so thin.
And v palace

It's alright lads I've done it!! I've found the kid can make the entire mad highline bling system work! And he's a country man of Ange. Get the deal done Levy . Just leave him on the halfway line and let him clean house. Should get three four games a season out the lads hammys!

:ange-arms:

Brentford and Bournemouth both lost their best player and have done fine since. Brighton get gutted season after season and still do alright.

Meanwhile, at Spurs: we have injuries. Because no other club in the world have them.
In fact we if you look at pure first regs then goalie and two CBs. It’s a toss up between biss and bent but we have gray who could play CM. Put Spence RB but he doesn’t trust both players in those positions. Scary!

You need to remember many of the posters arguing how wonderful our summer signings were disappear once we lose games and their hyper positive delusions get exposed.
It doesn’t matter if we sign a one legged midget from Uzbekistan, you’ll have clowns on here telling you he’s the current young player of the year in that country etc.

It would be funny if it wasn’t a bit tragic.
Where is Don Pedro?

this was another big sign that postecoglou didnt have a clue about football. i said this as soon as it was done, awful selection as captain. its like we dont even have a captain.

son as captain is as weak as it gets, fucking embarrassing.

son captain
johnson big 50m opening signing to play kamikaze possession football
set pieces arent important
cant understand the willingness to lose one poxy game if it means scum not winning the league!
big time winner but would rather be entertaining instead of grinding out a result time to time.......makes sense!

the list goes on. bloke tops it for me as the second biggest cunt to walk through the doors at the club. soooooooo out of his depth and the signs were there early. the fact he took major issue with the Woolwich winning the league just sums this fucking clown up! he desperately wanted to beat city...but hes not desperate to win other games hes all about entertainment! do one you absolute cunt!
The citeh thing I think was also about ego. Ange beating pep to show he’s at the big boys table. He is treated by the media as an elite coach hence itv hiring him. I’d like to seem on sky as a pundit analysing a game. Surely he couldn’t say a trans defending at a set piece is shocking.

Just 1 tiny example: if Spurs have a defensive problem with set plays & after 2 seasons - Ange still doesn't believe its a legit problem AND haven't dealt with it - indicative there is something massively wrong with the guy. He is losing matches just from 1 area alone.
==

that said - i think he is hampered by the lack of capable assistants.
he said he doesn't do tactics that much - he said he doesn't run training or set play tactics that much either,
wtf does he actually do? interviews?

he doesn't want to work with older guys which he doesnt know. He wants full control with younger lads - like those couple of failed Hibernian coaches.

Me not calling for his head is apathy? Don't think I don't detect the sarcasm in the "true supporter" bit either. I've posted my feelings on how ENIC have managed us over the years. This is about AP though, so why keep banging on about Levy, unless you're trying to dig out an argument?

I'm not interested.

Never said I don't have a view on him, I've shared it often enough and I don't care to repeat myself.

No he didn't. That was a strategic move to get Lammy to get his arse in gear.

OK, I'm done with this now. If you want a tear up over Levy and ENIC, get yourself over to that thread. Don't expect me to be there though.
No the true supporter wasn’t sarcastic actually. I can tell you are.
If Levy ends up sacking the 13th manager under his tenure and the ground starts singing “We want Levy out” - I’ll be joining in vociferously - how else do you get through to the man that we‘ve had enough of his ineptitude on the footballing side?
He just doesn’t want to leave us alone - even if he sells he wants to stay on.

And I’m not frequently on this site so I don’t know your views on Levy but I’ll take a look on the other thread.

I work in football and I understood he would have moved us to Stratford if the deal was right. But yes he was putting pressure on Lammy as well.

The other thing I hate about Ange is he prefers Pepsi to Coca Cola.

Pretty sure he murders hamsters too...
Nice one . Open goal and Celtic liked the soundbites too... but then it turned. Play decent teams with the 'philosophy' and it appears it doesn't seem to work for example in European competition from what I've noticed.
