I think Son is on £190,000 pw. I doubt we'll be spending that on a replacement when he leaves.

Richarlison and Solanke are on about £90,000 pw, which I assume is what we'll pay for a new attacker as in someone that is already established in the game that our leaders think is good. I doubt we'd pay £150.000 per week as you stated for Liverpool.

We normally double a players wage from their previous club when we sign them so I guess it depends on who we sign really and what kind of profile they are.

Maddison was brought in on 170 i believe - Perisic on 180, Romero on 160.....

Udogie, Gray on 75 right now....

I think it's about that we'll be looking at going forward, with this new bring in youth policy.

But just ignoring Maddison because it doesnt fit?
No I'm not ignoring Maddison, since Conte left he's been the exception to the rule wage-wise, overall our wage bill is reducing with this bring in youth policy. Our overall wage bill is on the trend of going down.

It's all relative and contextual.

Just because Woolwich are happy to pay stupid wages for players that arent worth it, it means we should too?

We are at a different stage in our development to them - when they first bought Martinelli, Odegaard, Gabriel, Saliba 3-4 years ago they had a similar wage bill to ours - most of their players - especially the new, young ones were on 70k or less but all have improved contracts given as the years and their performances go on - plus also, when you pay someone like Haavertz nearly 300k a week you need to bump up the rest of them to keep them happy.

If our wages are still where they are now in 2 years time then we have a problem, but i expect the likes of VDV, Udogie, Sarr, Porro, Johnson, Odobert, Bergvall's wages to all increase, some quite significantly over the next couple of years,

I'm not going to try and predict the future beyond stating that recently our overall wage bill has been reducing.

Getting back onto topic, There's a good chance Ange will not be Spurs manager in two years and a new manager might not want those players that you mentioned.

The grass may not be greener on the other side.

But it has an equal, if not higher chance of being greener.

25 years of mediocrity, No other owners have lasted this long and some have done more.

Of course it will change. Could it get worse ? Yeah it could , but it could get a hell of a lot better aswell. And if you are right and nothing changes, then we’ve lost nothing have we .

I think most fans just want owners that are going to make the team the priority. Go that extra yard to get the manager the player that he actually wants rather than giving him a third or 4th choice. An owner that will inject some enthusiasm and energy into the club. It doesn’t have to even be about money. Just someone that actually gives off the vibe that they care , can blow away a dark cloud over a club. And boy is th cloud dark over this club
I'm just saying that those who desperately want ENIC out should do so with expectations tempered and not build it up too much. Disappointment at not reaching heightened expectations can be upsetting.

As for your last sentence Justin it is all perspective. You say dark cloud, a Soton or Derby fan might chuckle in derision at that statement. Last decade we've played in Europe all but 1 season, made a cup final and UCL final. Dark cloud to describe Tottenham to most fans in football would seem to be the whining of spoilt brats. We still have it better than 99% of clubs in Europe.

I mean, if we want to be fully honest, it has reduced once recently, and previous to that it has been increasing year on year for some time.

We also pay more for tickets than 100% of clubs in Europe, and have the lowest wage vs turnover ratio % than all 150 professional clubs in England

By that metric, Dorking Wanderers are more ambitious - if you think our fans are spoilt brats, you are quite the cunt

Oh and we fucked over some pensioners for a few more quid. Yes we are truly spoilt. We were so ungrateful about the Super league too, oh and the whole furlough debacle. We be blessed.

Yesterday we saw 2 egregious bits of media shit baiting with Ange.

1. They ask him about Rashford and he says he's not interested in rumours. They make a headline about him not interested in Rashford.

2. He gives a piss take answer about the job being harder than Prime Minister

The BBC runs a story like he was dead serious

Do I? That's not what I said. Maybe give it a re-read.

The use of the phrase 'dark cloud' was highly hyperbolic, all I was pointing out is that to fans of 99% of clubs us whining over 4th-7th place finishes and a UCL final in the last 10 years would come across as spoilt.

Of course we want our club to be better, what fan of any club doesn't. It's akin to anyone in a first world country such as USA, UK, AUS, GER etc etc crying about being poor. Even the worst off in those countries is still miles better off the most of the people on the earth. And we're better off even in a period of unrest than 99% of clubs in Europe. All about perspective.

Maybe the BBC journalist is on the spectrum and just takes things literally!

I’m trying to give them the benefit of the doubt rather than just being stupid or a shit stirring West Ham / Woolwich fan.

#bekind (to BBC journalists)

Also this 'we pay the highest prices blah blah' is such a forced argument because it only speaks from the match goers perspective, the vast vast majority of Tottenham fans don't go to the stadium.

Spurs fans moan too much, I think it's a fashionable trend amongst self entitled football fans these days on social media and our fanbase are just as guilty as anyone. I know everything is relative and we've had an up and down few seasons but fuck me some of the whining is embarrassing.

I think Angelos could have done a better job as PM than Boris but Boris would not have done a better job than Angelos as Spurs' head-coach

I could be wrong on this but my gut instinct is that the BBC is a massive waste of tax payer's money and the journalist is a cunt.

Like I said, I could be wrong but right now that's the impression I get.
