Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Enjoyed that interview with Sky.

Got to respect him for sticking to his guns and calling out the whingeing pundits.
Ultimately I don't think you can win things without a bit of game management so it probably ends in tears but would love to be proven wrong.

Who cares? It’s an unforgiving job with a lot of pressure and accountabilities. Plus no other job has thousands of dickheads baying for your blood every time you fart in the wrong direction
Look, you asked a question about why I had an issue with his comments, I provided evidence as to why. You’re free to disagree with me, I don’t have an issue with that mate.

I just think it’s distasteful and I think a lot of people who have far harder jobs would care about a stupid comment like that, as I have already said at length earlier.

Let’s just agree to disagree and leave it there, already said what I had to say about it earlier and I don’t want to keep repeating myself.

Loads of people, in loads of jobs, think they have the hardest job.

If he really believes it, and I don't think he does, then he'll have a reason to think it.

Could be cos of the press, the stress, long hours, abuse, etc.

Thankfully, my job is a piece of piss.

Yep, Context is everything.
He was asked about the comings and goings of prem league managers, and rightly pointed out that basically, everyone is a week / bad game away from being sacked. Look at the sackings nowadays... he's right.

Great interview.

I dont think our style of play is as rigid as what some make out. Personally theirs no way Ange wants Bissouma going back to the keeper for eg from where he was. I just wish our guys would make better decisions. Is Ange reallt going to go nuts if Forster just boots up the field? I think our players need to be smarter.
I think you’re right. After his mistakes Forster was mostly going long, and Ange wasn’t losing his shit or anything over it.

Obviously the plan is to play out from the back and break lines, but the players also have licence to clear the ball if under real pressure, Dragusin plays a fair few longer passes, etc.

Like you said, it comes down to decision making and that’s one of the first things that is compromised by fatigue. We were going back to the keeper way too often and putting a keeper who’s obviously not the best with the ball at his feet under increasing pressure.

Given there were essentially zero viable options on the bench, the team was always going to experience a rough patch in that second half, and when it came it was massively compounded by the two errors which hugely changed the momentum of the match. But the 4 goals is the real story tonight, because with so many players missing and limited ability to rotate, that’s really good going.

It simply doesn’t follow that someone’s join date invalidates their observation that you’re a joyless fun sponge.

Unless you’re claiming that you were a joy-filled giddy schoolchild skipping about the place when Jose, Nuno and Conte were in charge? I’m not buying it.

The day may come when we don't have anything to show for it all and the defensive frailties and undue appetite for risk just take too much off the table and the only sensible thing is to give someone else a go.

But after all the bullshit we've been through and the toxicity and self-seriousness that the whole world is always trying to inject into this club and the bunch of kids he's been handed to work with, I just totally click with Ange's devil-may-care attitude, it's the breath of fresh air we've needed.

Good on ya mate :ange-clap:

If he's just gonna stand on the sideline and do nothing but watch the game wouldn't he be better off up in the stand? I'm serious. He'd get a better view up there at least.

Things were going tits up at 3-2, the camera cuts to Ange and as usual he's like a statue. "Fucking run around a bit."
