Why wasn't Reggie & Spence used earlier in the season at least the FBs could have been rotated, they have only been used when the manager was forced to use them (that is bad management)
rotating forwards for youth players can happen when safe in games, BUT we are never safe in games because of how this guy plays SO again its his faut we can't rest players

Reguilon has played less than 100 minutes in a season we have had injuries like never seen before.

The worst the manager has ever seen in terms of injuries and players available to him.
Absolute bare bones. 16 games over January and Feb.

He’s not a kid. This is a senior player. Total joke he was even in the squad. This club is done for.

Yet the club have the gall to up ticket prices and take away concessions!!

This is not the narrative most fans have been pushing whilst we were finishing top 6 and not winning things.

Non stop trophy cabinet jokes... winning trophies is one of the biggest sticking points have win our owners..

Teams have shit seasons..... they can come back from that and no one really cares.

When we were unbeaten at the start of the league last year fans were absolutely fuming at how we went out the cup to Fulham and I've also seen you say how shit it was we did as well as loding to city.

You seemed pretty passionate about that if I remember correctly. Why?

We’re talking about whether Ange keeps his job. If you think these owners consider a league cup + 15th place as worth keeping him on, then no. I’d celebrate a league cup but it wouldn’t make me convinced by Ange because bad managers fluke cups all the time. Di Matteo won a CL + FA cup double.

Ange will keep his job only if there is a serious upturn in overall form. Not if we fluke a league cup and bomb in everything else.

Cups matter. The league cup matters least of all of them. It won’t save any coaches job if that’s all he offers.

I am annoyed by all losses and shit performances no matter the competition. I can also raise our terrible performance in terms of trophies while also not expecting us to fall to bottom half whilst winning a league cup. Neither is a positive outcome.

I showed very clearly we did rest players so I'm not sure what you mean?

No manager makes 11 changes between games.... especially bot all 4 defenders. If he did and we lost he would get hammered for doing so.

That defensive line was hilarious

That’s the thing with high lines, if you don’t get the pressure on the ball right, they always look hilarious.

They are high risk, but statistically highly effective.

What’s truly hilarious to me is how easily Spurs fans got sucked into a narrative about Ange’s high line being unique to him and naive. Just because of one game against Chelsea when we had 9 men and he was clearly trying to implement a new mentality at the club.

If we win the league cup, we’ll have beaten Man UTD, Man City, Liverpool, and Newcastle or Woolwich. That would be as far from fluking a cup as you can possibly get.

Fluking a cup is getting a friendly draw all the way to the final and winning a one off game.

Do I think ange should keep his job if we finish bottom half? No, i don't.

Even if he wins the League Cup... yeah, again no.

But it would still be a very fucking good achievement to win any cup for us and he would absolutely get my kudos for that.

True.

I still feel that our 2008 league cup win was hard earned, beating the gooners and Chelsea. We certainly didn't coast it that season.

reggie Cant pick himself to play, Only one person that picks the team (the manager) he could have used both spence & Reggie earlier in season but he didn't thats on him
I'm not saying Reggie is the best LB out there but using him a few times MAY have stopped Udogie from being injuried THAT is down to this manager can't you see that

Which games should he have picked Spence?

When he came back from injury there were 2 games I think he could’ve picked him, Fulham and I can’t remember the other one. Before that Gray was ahead of Spence in the rotation.

The revisionism on Spence is mental.

As for Reguillon, most fans had no idea why he was still here. If he plays now it’s because Ange didn’t send him to the u21’s like most other managers would. Remember when he played against Yamal vs Barca in pre season and faked an injury because he got cooked so badly?

Still my favourite season as a Spurs fan but the 91 FA Cup was a bit flukey. We beat the gooners in the SF but Forest in the final was an absolute result.

Before that the likes of the mighty Blackpool and Notts County.
I'd have to think about what my favourite season was, but with 91 I do think there was something special about it being the first NLD at Wembley and how dominant the gooners were at the time.

Not the greatest quality in that team (apart from the obvious like Gazza, Mabs, and Lineker) but was full of heart and passion. Something we could really use today.

Mentality of that team went with Gazza. He had no fear and would try anything against anyone.

FWIW I see heart in this current team. Absolutely on Thursday night I saw it.

If a 59 year old with decades of experience in football still has lessons to learn he's not cut out for this level. It's clear as day the experience he's had up to now does not measure up to the job he's taken on and it's in his and everyone's best interests that we part ways, by the end of the season at the very latest.
I’m ok with a manager developing and adapting based on recent experiences. I doubt he will be manager next season but I’m still open minded - I’ve seen changes in his approach (albeit under duress)

Considering how lenient they already have been with him, a LC win would surely secure his place here for next season. Normally I'm not a fan of deciding a manager's fate based on the results of a few one-off matches, but at the moment this club is not in a position to scorn such an accomplishment. If he gets the boot after winning a cup, and his replacement doesn't hit the ground running, it'd be a disaster optics wise. They wouldn't dare to take that kind of an unnecessary risk, and for good reason.

It'd probably end in tears by the way, a Ten Hag-esque early/mid season sacking being the most likely outcome. But if that's the price for ending the trophy drought, so be it.

Chelsea under di matteo beat a very good Napoli side, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Fluke in this context doesn’t necessarily mean we wouldn’t deserve it. In fact I think our performances in the league cup have got the right results.

But if it isn’t accompanied by results in other competitions it will look like an outlier and won’t save his job.

Outlier if you isolate it from the league. If you combine it with the league, it’s never a fluke.

Not sure its PR by board keeping ange as looks good they are backing a manager as in past ruthless and puts other managers off joining us. Look at nuno fiasco. 8th choice. Tbh I'm quite glad forest got thumped 5 nil yesterday. Dont rate nuno at all. Just puts loads of men behind ball from start and hit on break. Fuck watching that. Howe dont rate either. Iraola for me as next manager.
