We're not talking about splitting hairs here. Like I said, I really liked Lennon - but he's fondly remembered by supporters because we had low expectations at the time and he met or exceeded them.

Johnson is not fondly thought of by supporters because we have much higher expectations and he's just meeting or failing them generally.

Yes, there's other ways to be an effective footballer, but by the end of this season Johnson will have contributed more league goals and assists in 2 seasons at Spurs than Lennon's 3 best seasons combined. The other stuff isn't so important for an attacking player that the above reality is overcome. Spurs pay/paid both of them predominately to score and assist goals.

I've always said that, this century, the best and most enjoyable time to be a Spurs supporters was under Redknapp. But that doesn't mean the players were better then, or even that the football was better then. A lot of it had to do with the fact that we just enjoyed the football and didn't moan constantly about not winning trophies or competing at the top of the table. Supporters, themselves, bear some blame for robbing ourselves of our own enjoyment.

Lennon was good for us !

You've completely misunderstood me fella.

Brennan is not the type of winger that is the key to Ange's system working.

That is my opinion.

Brennan's rapid, done his best and scored a few goals, especially since Solanke arrived, but he isn't a dribbling, beats his man, winger.

Neither is Son.

Son is starting games and captain at Spurs for non-football reasons in my opinion.

Re - read what I've written on the topic and think again.
Fair enough but you literally wrote this:
Son and Brennan have been the mainstays in these key positions for Ange's tactics to work.
You can't exactly blame someone for not understanding what you were getting at here.

As for Son, he's not been at his best recently but to claim he shouldn't be starting games is a bit ridiculous. He still has the most output of our forwards by miles. Who would you play at LW ahead of him? Odobert has potential but is 18 and crocked. Moore has potential but is 17 and isn't physically ready yet. Werner is crap. Richy is crocked and crap.

Context.

That is one sentence from several paragraphs.

Apologies for any misunderstanding.

I intended that sentence to be read as a statement of fact.

Son and Brennan have more often than not been the first choice picks of Ange in the positions where Ange prefers wingers who are very quick, can dribble past players and provide service into the box.

I don't blame you for what it is worth.

It's the education system.

Bring back Peter and Jane, times tables and the cane.

Levy is getting desperate now.
Kulu being wheeled out to the press and now Dawson blaming the fans.
I take it back Rabbi
Levy is a spineless little weasel who hides behind his staff.
Next up will be footballing Goddess Don Cullen to explain how it will all be good in 2027
Not sue why dawson is blaming the fans. Unless of course as hes part of the levy payroll he wouldnt bite the hand that fed it. Fans arent to blame as they pay top ticket prices.

Means fuck all. Kulu could keep saying that as we slide into the championship. What do we do then? "Oh it's alright we got relegated, Kulu was right behind him until the end so that is all that matters. " Whilst Kulu has a relegation release clause and fucks off to Woolwich.

I mean the Ange inners are getting desperate now, The only place they have left to turn, is that the players are saying all the right things, whilst their fraudulent manager sits next to them in a press conference.

How about fuck that. Let's appoint a manager who knows how to win PL games consistently.

The stupidest question in the world of sport is when you ask a player in a press conference or after losing a match about his struggling manager. What do you expect the player to say? "He Stinks", "He is the reason of how inept we look", "He is a fraud"?

I mean \(〇_o)/

Indeed. The beef between Conte, Richarlison and Romero was very much an outlier.

Postecoglou has been giving the players every excuse to lose games since the Chelsea game this season. He did not go next man up you can lose because we are missing players. So it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

which is why we shouldnt even be playing this formation and system. if son should be starting because hes ahead of the others then we are BANG in trouble.

its like the whole conte 5 at the back when it consists of dier and davies. dumb to play a formation where you are literally burning up spots. we play with 2 wingers and width gets prioritised, yet we dont have one winger at the club good enough to force this style.
