Starting to think Ange could walk into Levy's office, pull his pants down and do a giant turd on his desk and still not get sacked! :ange-hands-head:
i think thats why he is still here
to be fair not many ppl can do a giant turd on a desk
its something that sounds easy to till one day your boss calls you in and tells you to do it or you fired

Sure, at the end of the match, the only thing that matters is the result.

But, what we saw was a young team that could dominate an established mature team and force them to sit in. They were unable to cope with our press, and were forced to surrender possession to us.

If we can get this squad back to full strengh again, I'm confident that our system will be a success.
We didn't force them to sit in. Like Newcastle keep doing, they chose to as it's the best/easiest way to beat us.

Then he’s an idiot.

We struggled with injuries and form last season in just 41 games. We knew the potential for 69 games before a ball was kicked this season. We’ve already played almost the same number of games as last year.

We let experienced players in Emerson Royal, Perisic, Dier, Hoijberg and Skipp leave and only brought in one actual first team player in the summer.

What did everything think was going to happen?
Emerson Royal, Perisic, Dier, Hoijberg and Skipp?
BWAHAHAHAHA

The cackling halfwits on here were all screaming for them to be ditched - and now, suddenly, it's a mammoth mistake by Ange!

Apparently he is also to blame for the Gaza hostage swap situation, the Gaza issue in toto, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, UK immigration issues, which he is one of, global warming and the asteroid that is going to hit earth. Probably child grooming gangs as well, not sure we can get away with him being of Pakistani origin.

100%. This is why he has to go. In a cup game survive or die. Play your strongest team.
Reggie, Davies, Dania and Spence.
Far stronger and capable of playing to their strengths. Like I have posted before Spence at RB and we don’t concede the same goal for the 20th time this season ( the Porro has gone wandering again goal)
Reggie isn’t ideal but he can defend unlike Pedro Zorro.

We'd probably concede that goal 20 times with a prime Kyle Walker or Danni Alves at RB.
It's not the player brain farting. It's the tactics being fucking insane.
Our FBs are constantly occupying a CM position so we're exceptionally vulnerable on either side, either to run at, as Villa did over and over, or to cross to the opposite side, like many teams do.
We're essentially playing with a back 2 most of the time.

There was some really bad squad building last summer. We left ourselves short in every position on the field especially centre back. Ange has also acted like all the players got injured at the same time.

The fact is no matter how "unlucky" he has been I don't want my manager talking about playing his way especially when we lose the game like he did against Liverpool. I want him telling me he is going to get back to winning ways.

It is a stupid tactic especially since most of our wide forwards are better cutting in.

The only one of those I'd have kept is Hoijberg. In particular I would have signed a couple of old heads such as Perisic to augment our youngsters. Ange's lack of football experience at elite levels tells against us though - doesn't have the network Conte (for example) had that he can make Perisic type transfers happen.

Him and Lange/Munn seem to like youth for youth's sake. Rather than whether youth can win. They also appear to believe, IMO foolishly, that there is something like linear improvement and that long periods of losing and fatigue will inevitably lead to growth in players with a high (near certain?) chance of a very big payback in the future.

It is really naive thinking.

Youth should be fostered. As in some game time for Bergvall, Tel, Gray and Moore. In an organised and successful team.

Jesus Christ there’s some mental giants on here. Budding football managers. You’re wasting your talents here.
The youth were brought in with an eye to the future. It wasn’t known that a host of senior players would break down, and that the youth would play an extraordinarily number of minutes.

And in saying that, funny how our overworked youth haven’t broken down but the senior professionals have????? I said it earlier that I think a lot of the senior players need to take some responsibility for how they are handling their recovery in their own time.

I reckon Romero and VDV must look at it, Postecoglu played them both when unfit and injured them, has overplayed Richarlison after his long term injury and caused him to be out again, so have decided to be extra cautious with returning or just wait till he is sacked for their own careers sake.

Ange could have recalled the likes of Phillips, Devine, Abbott, Donley. He could have given minutes to Lankshear. Why didn't Ajayi come on when 2-0 down against Villa? Why did he wait until 80 mins to swap Scarlett for Richarlison against Brentford when it was clear Ricky's minutes needed managing? Why is Porro still in the team when he is the direct cause of so many goals against? (It's because he won't play Reguilon).

Even Mason would do better, these things are obvious. The PL season is dead, some opportunities should be given to our own academy players to see if they can make it. I'm sure Dane could better the absolute joke of a performance we got from Sonny on the weekend.

But Ange cannot think outside the box and that is the reason he needs to be sacked.

Do you wonder though if Son is there for ticket sales?
It seems he starts every game no matter how/knackered/ineffective he is.
And if he is, is it Ange being told to play him?
And if he is being told and is doing what he's told, he's even worse than we think.
BUT, Levy will like a manager who does what he's told and doesn't speak/act out.
