2 minutes away from a result that may have changed our entire season

And Bergvall wouldn't have played anywhere near as much if it wasn't for injuries. Would probably be in a similar position to Gray then depsite how underwhelming our more experienced players are.It is pretty clear that Ange is not a fan of playing youth players unless he 100% has to.
Archie, Bergvall and Odobert are exceptions because they came in as established first team players at their old clubs. And even then Archie has fallen to the side as more senior options have come back.
It’s why these players (and those before them) don’t feel any pressure to perform. You get a big contract here, you play premier league, and then the choice is yours: play well and try your best and serious football club will come and pick you up in a year or two, or, just meander through collecting a wage packet - you get noticed because you play for a historic, well known club (I’m not using the word big as it doesn’t fit) but there’s no actual pressure on you to achieve anything, it doesn’t matter if you win or lose and at the end of the day if you make a semi you get a new watch… just absolute mediocrity from top to bottom.
This is why we never have players like Chiellini, Ramos, Keane etc, I k ow those players don’t exist so much these days, not in the same vein anyway, but those “win at all costs” players don’t come here, because we don’t want to win, we more simply don’t mind losing.
what - useless wanker seems more aptWhat do you expect the manager to say. Would you like him to throw the owner under the bus?
Also at least learn to spell his name correctly.
Eh,That Milesy the “interview” chap from the club….
He is the absolute epitome of the mentality that puts this club in the sorry state it’s in.
Always an excuse, always a “we tried though…eh?” I honestly think we could lose 25-0 to Liverpool next week and he would start with “our white shirts looked lovely in the sunshine though Ange, and that’s the real win isn’t it”.
Muppet.
Yep just ask Ipswich and LeicesterTo be fair, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a petty tough place to go to.
It's not Milesy's fault but he is the literal mouthpiece of the ownership. As said above he epitomises the club.Eh,
I cannot be bothered by Milesy being a happy clapper since that's his literal job. His job is to do interviews and paint things as positive as possible.
There's a mentality issue at Spurs but I don't think that it stems from the club interview guy.
So you’d have rather have gone out of a cup competition to get rid of a manager? All this pain would have stopped if we lost to Coventry in carabao cup in September. He would have been sacked then imo.
We went out anyway. So you’d have rather have gone out of a cup competition to get rid of a manager?
He was on thin ice before that game. Johnson bailed him out. He lost the plot Fulham away last year when we got thrashed 3 nil. What's alarming me he is making mediocre Managers look above average. Terrible manager and its been calamitous. Arguing with fans, media. Its been farcical. So you’d have rather have gone out of a cup competition to get rid of a manager?

To a much better side, which we'd taken a 1-0 lead to in the first leg.
I've never said I'd want us to completely fuck our season over to win a cup.To a much better side, which we'd taken a 1-0 lead to in the first leg.
I can understand people wanting Ange out, but to say you'd rather have gone out the cup so he went I can't. There will be fans that want us to lose to Bodo/Glimt for the same reason.
I'm no Ange lover, but I've seen many posts of people saying they'd take finishing bottom half if it meant winning a cup, but when push comes to shove they can't handle it. I've seen fans in a supporters group I'm in say they'd rather finish 6th than win the Europa, it blows my mind (I'm not saying you have this mindset btw) - I just think so many fans change their mind every season on what they actually want from Tottenham. One year it'd be a serial winner, then when that goes wrong they want a project manager to rebuild the team, then when that takes time they don't have the patience and dote over the previous manager we let go. It's groundhog day.
God help the next manager, because they'll be fighting a losing battle from day one.
It can only be financial, as it’s the only thing that makes the remotest bit of sense!Perhaps he has a no payout release in his contract if he fails to qualify for Europe. If they sack him now levy may have to pay out a significant portion of his contract.
Maybe waiting one more lomth will save them millions
His Football is arguably not even good to watch. We do not do the simple things right even. Like yesterday the first goal is so preventable why the fuck header it back into a crowded area.I've never said I'd want us to completely fuck our season over to win a cup.
I've also said from before he even became our manager I absolutely don't want to be getting beat left right and center to "play better football"
Winning is good to watch.
Losing is not.
I don’t think we’ve really played stellar attacking football since we put four past Citeh! At times he can have us playing stellar attacking footballer. But at this point I just cannot enjoy it knowing that there's no defensive structure behind it to fall back on. Or any structure for that matter.
I would argue we haven't played attacking football since Villa, against City he changed tactics to play on the counter.I don’t think we’ve really played stellar attacking football since we put four past Citeh!
This is semantics but counter attacking is of course also attacking. Just another form.I would argue we haven't played attacking football since Villa, against City he changed tactics to play on the counter.
A myth which for some reason is pushed by pundits and the mediaAt times he can have us playing stellar attacking footballer. But at this point I just cannot enjoy it knowing that there's no defensive structure behind it to fall back on. Or any structure for that matter.
