Foolish to do anything other than show full support currently

This has been my position since Frankfurt. Unfortunately, it appears fans are still bickering and infighting and trying to get the manager sacked rather than attempting to enjoy a rare final opportunity. As much as I respect the right to express a dissenting opinion, which I will also have at certain points of the season, I also am starting to buy into the idea that our fanbase is purely toxic and actively sabotages us to lose, and I previously did not buy into that idea.

Is that the fan base in general or the vocal ones online?

It’s been like this for years on these boards. In any of the previous manager threads, you’ll see fans calling for the manager to be sacked within their first season, and from there, the toxicity just spirals.

I think he’s a clown no matter what!

Shittest manager in my lifetime. 17th in the league and the league is always the barometer of a teams quality.

Ange can do whatever tricks he wants - results speak for themselves. A joke artist. As if beating the team only marginally less shit than us (16th, with a win rate of about 30% under Amorim!) changes this.
Don't be a clown yourself honestly.. You can choose to not support the club tonight, but save your spreading of Ange-hate off in inciting others from wishing to be part of potentially historic moment, at least for today.

That's been the single most disappointing thing for me this season, even more so than the inevitable 17th place finish.
Supporting a team is a strange concept, in that you could be in a city on the other side of the world, and you see someone wearing a shirt of the team you support and you feel an instant connection; in the stands, in the pubs you get hugs from strangers during celebrations because you have that invisible bond.
This season has killed that to a degree though because you see how toxic elements of the fanbase are. People slinging insults at each other, defending abuse of Ange and certain players. It's fine to make objective comments regarding suitability for the role, but attacking personal elements is just pure idiocy.

I live 15000kms away from THS so obviously don't get to games, but the impression I get is that the attitude towards the team and Ange is for the most part much more positive in the stands than on here....so there is hope for us as a fanbase yet!

Win or Lose tonight, Ange can hold his head high. He has recognised that the single thing holding this club back is the lack of trophies. You cannot attract top players if there is no prospect of winning anything, and you cannot motivate your squad if your only ambition is to finish 4th.

Ange was very clear when he joined Spurs. He's not here to finish 4th. That doesn't interest him. He's here to win. He laid out a 4 year plan to turn Spurs into a winning team.

Abandoning the EPL this season was never part of the plan but was necessary. Finally, this has demonstrated to the board that having inexperienced backup players and a medical department that I wouldn't trust to administer a band-aid is not sufficient.

Sacking Ange would be a huge mistake - win or lose. He is exactly the man needed to rebuild this club. Back him with some better backroom staff and experienced players who can play the system without constant errors.

Maybe finishing 17th is the kick up the arse that the board needed to wake them up.

Stop acting like a donkey!

We've beaten far better opposition in Europe and gained nothing.

Il happily accept this gift knowing it's nothing to do with Postecoglou

But but this graph clearly shows his knowledge of Boney M songs is far superior to ANY other Premier League Managers

And his looking at the ground to camera ratio is unrivaled in the top 5 European leagues

The facts simply don’t lie

Get a grip man... If he is here next season we will finish in the bottom half of the table assuming the squad stays fit. Loads on injuries and we are looking over our shoulder at the three promoted sides again.

We've lost 21 games in the league because of the fanbase?!?!? What is dissapointing to me is how many fans are spouting this narrative that we are the reason for years of ineptitude and this seasons league capitulation... same fans who fork out thousands to watch this team home and away are the cause for endless humiliation. Get a fucking grip!!! Next you'll be telling me the hotel has a 4.9 out of 5 on TripAdvisor and won best London hotel awards. Maybe we can put that next to our 2008 League Cup.

Ange, get us this trophy and we'll all be buzzing like no other football fans on this planet. Right this minute, I don't care about the past or the future. It's all about this day and etching another great moment into our history.

Oh please, the thing holding this club back is our attitude to salaries. Pay top money and you get top players. With top players you can win trophies.

If you don’t pay top money then you will be waiting decades for a miracle.

True. Did the journalist write the headline? Maybe not, usually it’s a copy editor but the piece itself is fine.

Either way he’s just constantly bickering with journalists which you can do from a position of strength but when you’ve just finished 4th from bottom and set a record for losing games, just keep your fucking head down and focus on the final. Now he’s made the whole media narrative about him.

It’s pointless agitation.

Yep. He didn’t need to address it. Unless it’s to distract pressure away from the players and on to him. That’s the only thing I think it could be.

Ignore them. It will only be from people on the other side of the world who’ve never even been to a game.

Shitting bricks here.
Train up to Preston soon to visit my son and his family. He’s throwing a house party for a few friends tonight and already has the pizzas in the justeat basket ready to press send midway through first half for delivery at half time. I don’t know where he gets his organisational skills from but it ain’t me.
He’s tapped the keg of beer so all seems in order.
Shame I’m going to be biting my nails from now til kick off.
Once the game starts I’ll be fine, or pissed. Probably both.
COYS. Do not let me down again.
