At the start of the season he said this:
1) I always win a trophy in my 2nd season.
2) The goal is to at least qualify for the Champions League

Did he deliver or not?
He delivered the literal meaning of those statements but;

What about the season ticket holders and supporters who travelled up and down the country watching some of those dismal performances? The people who kept the faith and stumped up in advance of the season.

What about the quantity of injuries; especially to key players?

What about the general lack of consistency in the performances, game to game, and within games; good first half, poor 2nd half or vice versa.

The chairman of the club has a responsibility to everybody involved and invested in THFC.

It's a truly great ending to a truly shocking season.

The juxtaposition of emotions is what football is all about in many ways.

The real question is; can Levy afford to get his next decision wrong?

If he backs Ange and it fails all this was for nothing and Levy still looks a mug.

If he sacks Ange and it subsequently fails then some supporters will look back at the decision to sack Ange as a mistake.

Spurs have to be successful going forward. We just showed the world how big this club can be.

Spurs can be as big as anyone.

Yesterday proves this.

The team needs investment and whoever the manager is; he needs to be seriously backed.

I cannot claim to be one of Ange's true believers if I am being honest.

He's struggled with the pressure but fair play to him; he has delivered a significant trophy and Champions League football.

Retaining him would be a huge gamble in my opinion but employing him in the first place was.

So pleased for our young supporters.

Ange has to be congratulated for that if nothing else.

I still think his future is up in the air, the club didn’t put his “season 3 is always better than 2” speech up on their official socials from what I can see? Would be a no brainer if he was definitely gonna be here next season. I think when Paratici takes control he’s going to get rid of him, just not the kind of manager he goes for.

I will never understand calls for Poch back in, even more so now that we’ve won the Europa League.

His football was great, and I loved watching it, but he never delivered. The man got sacked by PSG after barely winning in the least competitive league with a squad that should have walked the champions league.

We were never “Spursy”, we were “Pochy”.

He's answered all that. The league was done when the injuries came. He then identified the Europa as winnable and the main priority, even if others at the club disagreed with him. He said he believes cup games are about moments and that requires different tactics. He admitted the League finish was worse than he aimed for regardless.

Jesus Christ. Can't you see through his bullshit? The Europa League was the only thing left he had to salvage the worst season in decades. It wasn't by design, it was a direct result of his incompetence.

I can assure you the plan very much last summer was to fight for top 4. Ange shat the bed horrifically and once we got to March and April, he had to go all in on the Europa, otherwise he'd have gone down in history as the worst manager we've ever seen.

The bloke is the biggest bullshitter I've ever seen. And some Spurs fans lap it up.

21 league defeats, and people want to give him another season. Batshit mental. Winning that final will have no bearing on how we will perform in the league next season, it will be more of the same shite. We've been absolutely rudderless, uncoached and appalling. It won't change.

He did. Absolutely he did.

But recently, has he shown signs of learning? I'd say yes, he has. That scrappy 1-0 the other night might have been quite significant.

I thought that after the Frankfurt game but it didn’t happen again until the other night.

Maybe a new coaching outfit will be installed?
That’s essential imv

Would be nice to be put in the loop!

Keeping him on in the hope that this is the start of something big is a risk. A gamble. A dare if you will.

To dare is to do?

It is and that’s why I suggested new coaching staff

Last thing we want next season is to start with Ange in charge only to have a disastrous start and have to sack him after ten games!

If fourth was the plan last summer with this squad then the entire club was smoking something really good.

Can't you see the squad at the start of the season was woefully shallow in talent and experience? When the injuires came even less so. You're not getting fourth with Archie Gray and Ben Davies as you two CB's my friend and Brain fart Bissouma screening them.

If there are no serious recruits coming in, no way is this squad getting fourth next season not matter who manages

Really? Were they smoking the same thing that has Nuno's Forest challenging for the CL places on the last day?

I do not buy this that we had no chance of top 4. We only had no chance because of Ange. If we had the right manager in charge this squad could absolutely challenge for the CL places through the league.

Ange has normalised losing every single week in the league, so please forgive me if I'm not going all deluded and wanting to waste another season with him.

Fair play to him for Wednesday night, but I still think he's an absolute blagger and out of his depth in the PL.

I honestly think, 4 legit starting quality players takes us to levels I don’t want to say because it’s not the time to start upsetting the melts yet.

RW: Mbuemo, Cherki
AM: Eze, Cherki, Paz,
6/8: Cardoso, Palinha
LCB/LB: Hincapie

None of those are impossible to do.

Then you need to make decisions on who you replace in the squad if they leave like Richy, Son, Biss/Bent. Romero has to stay
Yeah all doable but mind this is Levy ffs he’s previous for dragging his heels and letting the players we need go somewhere else

I'm asking Ange haters the question, so there is an expectation set.

For me top 7 and making a semi or final in a domestic cup should be enough to keep him around another season. It shows improvement in league whilst still being able to compete in cups. He will likely exceed this is we stay healthier than this year and make a few astute transfers.
That's what I'm afraid of, a long run of underachievement punctuated by an occasional cup run. You won't ever see Spurs challenging for the top spots, but you're supposed to be happy because you have Sideshow Ange.

His past record suggests that he does not bullshit and he apparently he has the dressing room!
If he was bullshitting that would not be the case!
When you get your coaching credentials then maybe you can offer constructive comment not the baseless crap you are serving up at the moment!

It’s really confusing seeing people say Ange has “instilled a winning mentality”, because on the one hand, he’s got us over the line for a trophy, yet on the other he’s lost 21 league games in a single season….

Split mentality, or a good start on a mentality with work to do?

Winning mentality, treble next season :ange-arms:

Been reading the players and board are split with Ange. Imo thats not unanimous. Also losing to gooners and chelsea consecutively is hard to forget imo. Pre-season is key as well building up players, coaching and developing. As winning europa is starting to sink imo i think he needs to go. Amicable on both sides. Next year both tuchel and poch will be available. My picks for new manager next season are iraola or de zerbi.
