On the part of those who want him to stay, the most prevalent point seems to be that he deserves to stay because he has the players on his side or something.

Except the very same people were convinced that he had totally lost the dressing room after seeing those utterly lethargic performances that we had gotten accustomed to during this calendar year in particular. That no-shot-on-target first leg against AZ immediately comes to mind, but it was hardly a singular incident in this regard.

Seems like these people are also aware that there's not a single non-sentimental, footballing reason in favour of keeping him, but are so desperate to continue seeing him in the dugout for whatever reason that they're clutching at straws.

This just this. The John Duncan John Duncan Pythagoras long stopped debating with them. It's simply a personality cult. They believe in Ange Postecoglou and the reality of where this club is actually headed matters not a bit . People need to stop banging their heads against this wall.
It really is a cult of personality at this point. He even declared himself the "main character" in the pre match presser to the Brighton game.

Now that the dust has settled and I''ve had time to assess the season. We 100% must replace Ange.

The idea of keeping him just because he won a cup is wrong. The standards in the league slipped way more than I realised was possible. Our floor has become relegation contenders. There is no guarantee that this won't happen again, because with CL football we'll find ourselves rotating heavily in some league games next year and we can't just write them games off as defeats.

I will forever be grateful to Ange for getting us over the line. I'll even happily call him a Tottenham legend and have a big picture of him framed in the stadium with the trophy. But on reflection, I feel like Romero almost single handily won us that Europa League with his performances in all the knock out games. Bar Ange resorting to a slightly more pragmatic style and prioritising Europe, he didn't really make the difference. The final was a very poor game that could have gone either way. Had we have blown them away 4-0 then this is a different discussion.

The problem is I'm not sure we can just hire someone with no CL experience like Iraola, Frank or Silva. At least Glasner has the experience of winning Europa so he'd be a good option. Xavi is the one I want and with CL football, we might actually have a chance of getting him.

Love you Ange. But think the correct play is to walk our separate ways. I kind of made my decision back in February but didn't want to go against him while he still had a chance of winning us a trophy so glad I stayed on side. But now feels like the time to walk away and I've a feeling Levy feels the same way.

The problems with Ange is we can't defend set pieces and he doesn't have a plan B . Most times this season we concede a goal and instead of changing it up we concede another almost identical goal . Two goals from avoidable corners took the game from 1 -0 up to 2-1 down yesterday . From then we were chasing the game . What does Ange do - stands there with his arms folded or his hands in his pockets . The same thing happened when we were 0-2 up away to Brighton . Their manager changed it up at half time and we conceded 2 quick goals straight after the start of the 2nd half . Buying more players won't change the Modus Operandi . I'm not annoyed at the loss yesterday , I'm annoyed at the manner of that loss . I expected us to get beat after the hangover from the bus parade . To go a goal up and miss decent chances to go further in front , and to then concede sloppy goals is just not on . 22 defeats this season . The numbers point to the EXIT door for Ange

I was fully Ange in after Wednesday and I’m now Ange out again.

It’s about risk assessment and the risk of our form under him continuing is just too great a risk.

If Ange was a manager at another club and we were looking to bring him in after the season he just had, would we?

I am also seeking psychiatric help🕺🕺

I honestly think, 4 legit starting quality players takes us to levels I don’t want to say because it’s not the time to start upsetting the melts yet.

RW: Mbuemo, Cherki
AM: Eze, Cherki, Paz,
6/8: Cardoso, Palinha
LCB/LB: Hincapie

None of those are impossible to do.

Then you need to make decisions on who you replace in the squad if they leave like Richy, Son, Biss/Bent. Romero has to stay
Starting point has got to be a clear out and get some decent money. Bin Tel for starters abd get a proper wide player. Richi, son, Davies, reg, Forster, and a few others can go. I’d bin Wilson and even Johnson if forest paid the money we paid for him. Get real quality wide forwards bolstered by our own young players. We need to brutal which in the past we have never done. Ok Johnson has done well with the goal tally no doubt. But even Yday he offers nothing with the ball at his feet. He never looks for the ball when he is out wide. Basically all our attacks have to come down the left side unless Porro swings one. Impact sun at best. Remember the game v Tamworth he was awful. That front 3 was diabolical that day. No more of that shite.

He says he can’t understand why some fans want him out after an unprecedented season.

According to the Oxford dictionary - unprecedented :- “never done or known before.“

Either he’s unaware of our previous cup victories in Europe or he’s only referring to recent seasons. If, according to his interpretation of the word, then it’s also unprecedented, over the last few decades, that we’ve last had so little league points, so many league losses and ended up so low down the table.

If he wants to take credit for the EL win, then he should, equally, take responsibility for the poor PL season.

There are two sides to a coin. You can’t polish one side and gloat over it whilst keeping the other side dull and neglecting it.

I agree on them. I'd have a massive preference for Wharton over Cardosa/Palinha but appreciate that its very unlikely we'll spend the 80m+ to get Wharton. However I do think us being in the CL means he would actually come here providing City or Liverpool aren't in for him.

He did. Absolutely he did.

But recently, has he shown signs of learning? I'd say yes, he has. That scrappy 1-0 the other night might have been quite significant.
This is the thing now. Everyone wanted / liked Ange bcos of the football he wanted to play. Yet here we are after 3 KO rounds of Europa and the final having played football not even Jose or conte dished up. If anyone says they enjoyed the football most of this season is kiddo g themselves. The flip flops / somersaults are amazing.
Yes take the trophy and he did by hook or crook but let’s not pretend we did it in style of football in keeping with spurs tradition or what many fans wanted after Jose and conte ball.

Wharton will be a Real Madrid level player, he won't leave now when he can leave for a bigger club in a couple of years.
