Self preservation BS. We won 3 games on the bounce in Feb so didn’t look like he threw the league at that point. It’s just his way of ever changing narrative and filling a bunch of people along the way. They all lap it up. Never once do they q his comments from before and ask him you said this previously how comes you are now contradicting yourself. It’s like the ‘this is who we are mate’ then playing 10 men behind the ball and only having 25 % poccesion with just 115 passes of which only 61% were accurate. Absolute shocking!
How does some melt on twitter know it will be underwhelming? No one has a clue how he will do. He's a decent manager that consistantly has a club with the 18th/19th highest net spend in the prem punching above their weight. Maybe we could get Mourinho back? Yeah congratulations, but you know what I meant. Frank hasn’t been tested at a further level, Ange has literally shown this season he can focus on one competition, and if he wants to go for a cup he has to abandon everything else. Frank hasn’t had the same opportunity as Ange has with the same level as resources but lots of people are saying he’s a mid table manager and that’s all he can ever be. I think this season has shown Anges true ceiling.
But then why some melts in here, not saying you, are so validated in their points that Frank is better than Ange when we did the double over them? Our squad were shit too, according to them. Did Frank forgot to adjust his tactics against Ange's who was supposed to have been found out since game 11 of 1st year?
I bet it won’t even end up being Frank anyway. It’s rarely the first one we are linked with that becomes the manager.
I do like Frank, but my worry is that he feels a bit Nuno. Likeable bloke, calm and measured in the way he speaks, and can coach I side pretty well, but potentially unable to take the step up to the next level where consistency is key, that being a consistency in getting results whether you're playing well or not.
I'm not saying he can't do it, just that my concern is that he's an unknown in that respect. It's a massive leap from keeping a team up, to having one challenging for top honours domestically, which is essentially what we want.
Having said that, I put Eddie Howe forward as another comparison to Frank in a previous post. Howe is also comparable in terms of his calm demeanor and coaching ability, and he's doing very well ATM. Whether he can take that extra step to consistently getting results, regardless of whether they're playing well or not, still remains to be seen. However, I think we'd all take Howe in a heartbeat right now.
As we've seen for far too many years, every manager is a gamble, regardless of their pedigree. Hopefully, if we do gamble on Frank, or any other manager for that matter, we actually get what we all hope for.

Gary O Neill did the double over Ange, as did Nuno this season. Thats all pretty meaningless. We can summise an educated guess what we'll be like under Ange next season, we struggle to beat good or even semi decent sides, we get shit loads of injuries, we're coming in at roughly a point per game over a 50 game period now. No one knows how Frank will do with more resources. Getting battered home and away by practically every PL team we come up against, appalling tactics, not a hint of a winning mentality, carved open time and time again. Ange standing on the touchline looking at the floor. Same old excuses by Ange every week post game, boys worked hard, result wasn't in our favour.
Fuck doing that again next season. Yet our fanbase just shrug their shoulders and go "Ange in".
I've never seen a fanbase twerk for such a shit manager in my life.
The results were diabolical, and so many want to give him a third season. Clowns.
Now they are making out that because Frank hasn't won anything or finished higher in the league, Ange is the better manager.
Frank manages Brentford ffs. I remember when Brentford even being in the Championship was a pipe dream. Now they are an established PL side, and Ange fans are moaning that Frank doesn't have them higher in the table, whilst defending Ange taking a consistent top 6 club to finish 17th.

Wouldnt surprise me. Suspect we'll hear more on De Zerbi, Marco Silva or a late run on that old favourite Brendan Rodgers.

Likewise from a purely coaching standpoint but he's liable to fall out with everyone within a few months. Very high maintenance.
