Seen it all now. Spurs fans too good for a Champions League Trophy just to own Ange.

Fucking hell :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:
I don't think you really took the intended message from that.

If I won the Euromillions I'd be over the fucking moon, I wouldn't however consider myself a financial whizz and give myself any credit for it.

The players want trophies because they want to be the best. If it was just to own a shiny trophy, they could just order them from amazon.

If we did win CL, whilst doing just enough to avoid relegation, would you claim we were the best team in Europe?

Why would Levy need to confirm what's already agreed by contract?

Because of the speculation?

The fact he hasn't ended that speculation by now tells you all you need to know imo.

The question is when they get their replacement over the line because a manager search is the very last thing anyone wants right now.

It wouldn't be Levy dropping a vid saying "Hi guys just to let you all know..."

But if it was business as usual with the contract being honoured... There would absolutely be clear leaks/briefings to the press, with all this speculation. There's the hypothetical official announcement of him being sacked, or the hypothetical covert announcement of him staying.

Pretty sure I did.

I don't know if I would really.

However, as a pure hypothetical, I still think I'd lean towards no,

What does CL really mean to me if it doesn't come with the feeling that Spurs are the best team in Europe? You can't delude yourself into believing that if you finish 17th in your domestic league.

You're just trying to minimise the joy and meaning of winning this European Trophy because it boils your piss that it was won under Postecoglou.

To extend that out to Champion's League is just utter fucking bollocks. Ludicrous.

250, 000 people in North London celebrated. Why on earth can't you just go with that and stop this ridiculous nonsense?

He'll be gone soon. You'll have your "got the manager sacked" trophy. You don't need to do this anymore.

No, you're just imagining that I have any ill will towards Ange.

I have no issue with him whatsoever, aside from thinking he's not all that at managing.

It boils my piss that we were fucking shite all season, and I don't wany to watch that for another year.

I don't know if I would really.

It's a difficult one to ponder even, because I reckon it's practically impossible that we could navigate a path to a CL win whilst also being that bad in the league, the Europa win stretches credulity to it's limit, but remains just within the realms of possibility due to the opposition involved.

There's no way that happens in CL, realistically the odds of us doing well in that next year are much better if we are actually playing well and getting results in the league.

However, as a pure hypothetical, I still think I'd lean towards no, because it's a whole season of being beaten down by Spurs in the 38 domestic games. This season has ground me down to complete apathy, and I don't like feeling that way, it's worse than coming away from a defeat infuriated. Unlike our players, I can't just switch that on/off for different competitions.

For most part of the last 17 years, many fans like to remember us as the cup team. It's amazing suddenly people seems to have enough of it with just one silverware won recently.

Agree.

I'm talking about the people who want to suck the joy out of a European trophy win because they can't get over who was the manager. Their only catharsis is him being sacked. Weird but whatever.
Most people just don't want to see a singular moment of joy cloud the club's vision for the future and its aspirations to be more than a bottom-half club

No. I am pointing out that yes we won a cup. Brilliant. Excellent etc great.
But you can’t ignore the league form. He is taking us to the championship.
He keeps playing in a style that injures our players. He only changed tactics in the Europa to save his reputation.
As for poch I haven’t even mentioned the playing at wembley or not buy any players for two seasons…..
Ange is out of his depth. Someone needs to call and end to the madness.
I dunno . I get that 22 PL losses is not acceptable however if you start a new job and the person you are replacing is sacked for winning the EL but would have been kept on if he got top 4 just means you need to prioritise finishing 4th over winning a trophy.

No it doesn't .. it just means like any coached you're going to be judged on how you've progressed the team long term, and how the team is playing. No club judges manages based on a cup run alone. Finishing 17th (!!!!) is so far unacceptable. Ange could have had a completely average season otherwise and been incredibly safe, his issue is being so beyond diabolical that the questions are asked anyway.

I mean FFS, we won the cup and then a week later immediately shipped 4 at home to Brighton. There was a complete lack of basic professionalism from the team under him this season in the league and that will get your job questioned unless you've won the champions league. If we were sat here in 9th nowhere near top 4 his job would be incredibly safe.

Whatever would give me that impression... ?

Quite apart from the frankly embarrassing claim that you'd turn down a Champion's League trophy if it meant finishing 17thg in the league. Dude... stop. You're already dead.
How many if those comments are personal abuse toward him? And how many are simply critical of his ability in the role of manager?

This hatred of him you think I have simply doesn't exist.

I'll stop, because your either conflating my posts with the many that can't stand Ange the man, or you're just inventing an argument that I'm not having because you're too lazy to actually read what's been written.

Either way, it's pointless to waste any more time with you unless you can do better.

There are plenty of people who were and remain vehemently Ange Out who took singular joy in a once in a generation achievement and who thanked Ange for it, never once tried to minimise the achievement and what it means for us fans and the club going forward, and still want to see him go...

It's really not that hard.
