I think the powers that be made their minds up to get rid, weeks possibly months before The EL final. What winning it has done is by him a "respectful delay" before it is announced.
Point! THFC.... We have deliberated long and hard and come to the difficult decision (not) to start a new chapter for the 25/26 EPL campaign, (highlighting the league bit), without Ange! TBH, I would have expected transfer businesses are actually really done more discreet then we would have imagined. Clubs, players and agents know far far more than we fans do. The rumours are just sensationalising the lull period without much actions during end of/pre season and mid season break.

I'd still put it above the Bundesliga that Kane won, and above any domestic Cup - Super league depends on if we win it, if we do then surely its got to be above the CL , if we lose it then its just a friendly.

I think if it is him (if Ange goes) he has the charisma to manage the fanbase. Those that have fallen under Ange’s spell will be as easily wooed by him in time.

I didn't call anyone a mug or state that we ought not bother winning it, it's just a simple fact that it's the number two European competition. We won it, I'm glad, well done to all, but it's still what it is.

Basically thinks we're trying to get a replacement signed and sealed first but until thats done he's here, so i guess if we mess up he may end up staying by default.

Again for what its worth I wouldn't call myself a Ange fan boy, I think the losses in the league are inexcusable , he should have been gone months ago, but regardless I'm not going to write off our European cup win as a given as we "were favourites" fucking hell, talk about shifting the narrative!

He picked the correct starting 11 for the final.
And his tactics worked.

Personally I thought we were underdogs. No european trophy in decades. A United team whose wage bill and spending eclipses ours.

Does it make him a legend hell no. But he bought home a trophy. That counts for something.

interesting that he says what a lot of us said here - it's the players who'll have gone up to him and telling him we aint playing this bulshit way in the EL as it's the only chance we have of resurrecting the season and actually achieving something

The example I quoted was England in Italia '90 when Robson was well out of his depth with tactics and the senior players just told him the formation they were going to play and it was up to him if he wanted to come aborad with that

You know what's telling?

He's 2 years into a year deal. According to some, he walked on water this season by winning the Europa League.
And yet absolutely nobody is talking about a contract extension to stop anyone stealing him away from us.
For comparison, Poch signed a new 5 year deal 2 years after joining us.
In 2018, he signed another new 5 year contract.

But no new contract for Ange, nor is anyone trying to steal him away from us.
