Ffs....It wasn't the squad he had.

It is missing:
  • Romero, who played 34 games
  • Van de Ven, who played 27 games
  • Maddison, who played 30 games
  • Sarr, who played 35 games
  • Bentancur, who played 25 games
  • Werner, who played 14 games (and was a different Werner this season's one)
  • Dragusin, who played 9 games
Some of those weren't available for that game, but it's really scraping disingenuous into 'care in the community' to be trying to make the argument that that squad in the tweet was the entire squad at his disposal.

Honestly, you can tell Ange is toast when people stretch reality so far it makes interdimensional travel possible

If those were available more of the season we’d have finished higher than 5th

With minimal European interruption Conte took 79 points from his first 38 games here starting with an utter disgrace of a squad. And then he wasn't new anymore and had the Champions League to contend with, on top of the inherent poor fit factors, and nature took its course.

I think those kind of stats - including those that affect Ange - present that argument that a manager initially benefitted from a squad or coaching, and then the effect dissipated. For example, with Conte he usually loses the dressing room before he leaves, which has an influence on the performances of the players.

Its apples to oranges to compare us to his other jobs. I don't think he'd have done any better at Man Utd, for example, as a team that had lots of money and support but is suffering from no longer being able to bully the rest of the league financially.

No one is saying we shouldnt have done better but your assumption is that Frank would have done is based on nothing.

I want a better manager
I don't want Frank because he has never proven himself to be a better manager.

these two things can exist
That's fine. I'd be quite happy to see him given the chance with more resources as I think he's earnt the right to test himself. Just as I was with Ange at the start, I was one of the voices getting irritated with the negativity from the start in the start of this very thread.

That said, obviously that has resulted in a bit of a mixed bag so I'm not the best judge obviously.

For all the Thomas Frank fans, I think it's time we just agree to disagree. You guys see him as the perfect fit to take over from Ange. I see it differently. Let's move on...

I think that most of those ‘Thomas Frank’ fans firstly, agree with you that Ange has to go as we (I include myself) see Frank as a better coach who can bring more entertaining football for the fans than what we’ve seen over the last 18months or so.

However, if there was a better manager (other than Frank) available, someone like Glasner or Alonso or Hoeness, then I think most of those same fans would likely have picked one of those three over Frank. Well, I would anyway.

Well it’s nearer the start than the end in my book!

Stop being a pedant! 😂

IMO that’s Spring unless you are Chinese and then it’s the start of the new year

December to March, the PPG was 1.9 which is very decent. It wasn’t as exciting as the first 10 games when a title charge was the form if it continued but right up until we smashed Villa at Villa park, it looked like Ange was going to get top 4 without Harry Kane

I really don't care which we go lol I've got no affiliation with Ange.

I just question some of the overly negative stuff I see on here. He did win us a European cup and gave us our first taste of success in 17 years. I do have respect for the man which clearly most on here don't have.

My preference is we still replace him but I find Frank underwhelming so I'm quite 50/50 on what we do now. My big hope is we just make the decision soon and get on with it.
respectfully, he cupped his ear to us and mugged us off. i've prob said some things i regret but i think ange brought so much of the abuse on himself. i'm not justifying it but there's a reason you don't see managers taunting their own fans very often.

And what’s the PPG March ‘24 to May ‘25?

No he didn't. It's a combined success for everyone at THFC. We win together. We fail together.

He won the Asia Cup... which I am sure you will laugh at and degrade but when you consider the players he had at his disposal was a huge achievement. J League is very competitive but again, you will degrade this as micky mouse no doubt even though Japan regularly qualify for the World Cup Finals. Don't know much about A-League but I think you are belittling his achievements in Scotland a bit by saying a cactus could win the the treble there especially when you start your post with lets be serious here... just saying...

Yes. I am laughing.

Mate, again, this is a discussion about Ange vs Frank.

The latter is a completely unknown quantity for what we will be doing this coming season.

Yep, Frank is unknown. Ange IS known and IS known to be shit. We'll get spanked out of the champions league by actual football teams and continue to get done every weekend in the PL. This is known. We know. The known is not the way to carry on.
A lot of risk in changing, for anyone. But we have to throw the dice at this stage or we're done.

Frank could win the quadruple and some would still claim this. The utter madness Ange has inflicted our fanbase with is astonishing.

There is not a single way to prove that either way so its moot.

he has never managed a club of our size in the CL - he is wildly inexperienced for what we need.

Poch hadn't managed a club of our size in the CL. Or any club in the CL. Or even in a European game AFAIK.
