It's ok to admit that one of your own is a useless clown who would struggle to hold down a job as a suicide bomber.

Okay well if you're the type of person who calls the manager who provided you with a European Trophy - which resulted in a Parade you watched "buzzing" - a "useless clown" then that says something about you I guess.

What exactly that is, I'm unsure, but it seems obvious to me that you shouldn't really be seeking this thread out. And yet... you're here?

You guys are so fascinating. So weird and so fascinating. Please keep posting 😍

What we are missing is ambition!

Where is the drive?

Where is the passion?

We should be reaching for the moon.

We should be striving to set records.

We all should knuckle down and get serious.

10,000 pages here we come!

And we'd already have been safe last year with only the number of points Frank collected. Ange would have had us in a relegation scrap with this year's bottom 3
Could've, should've, would've . These are assumptions and what ifs, they don't hold water and you can't be proven the outcome is what you think WILL happen.

Why people even bother to use such hypothetical scenarios to debate I really don't understand.

You can definitely see the influence Ange has had in De Zirbi's style of play and how he carries himself as a man.

Wonder if he'll be able to deliver a trophy within his first two seasons at the club.
Given how few Tottenham managers have won trophies over the years, it's doubtful, but you never know. After all even the likes of Juande Ramos and George Graham managed to win something in their time at the club.

However the list of managers who have managed both a top 5 finish, and a trophy while with Spurs is much shorter:

Arthur Rowe
Bill Nicholson
Keith Burkinshaw
Terry Venables
Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham legends one and all though, I'm sure we can agree.

I dunno what's more shocking, that the list is so short, or that Ange is on it!

Like him or not, he delivered when it mattered.... And although he only had 2 seasons, you COULD argue he's a victim of modern football, whereby a top 5 finish and a trophy in consecutive seasons STILL isn't deemed great!

Those statements are not at odds. The squad isn't capable of being great, but Ange made results worse than they had to be. An average manager would have done better. The fact that Frank is no better than Ange doesn't raise Ange's standing at all.

Ange doesn't belong in the PL and would never get another opportunity at a big club, one can understand why he'd take the job. Frank should have seen the evidence of Ange's years and realized this job wasn't right and waited for another opportunity, which may have come for him.

So you think An average manager would have done better than 5th in Season 1 ( post Conte shit show and first season ages with no Kane) plus 2 Cup semi's, one Europa Cup, and 17 th in season 2 and a ridiculous injury list?

Tudor is an average manager. Frank is an average manager. Tell me how you think they would get us to 5th , two cup semis and a European trophy? (they already have achieved 17th in record time LOL).

Frank was handed a Europa Cup winning squad full of confidence and belief and he took a dump on them all. Yes he took a dump on his players and wondered why they wouldn't play for him.

BTW Poch just dumped on his players after the Portugal loss.

And that's the thing Postecoglou has all over the likes of Frank and Poch: he always shields his players publicly, always backs them ( Werner excepted but he deserved it) and gives then belief they can beat anyone. Thats' why they loved him.

No one could make these donkeys into a great squad, but a competent manager would do better than 17th place and form that would have put us in a relegation battle most years. In spite of the fact that they walked through a poor Europa field and then won a final by throwing his system off altogether.

Lets ignore 5th, no Kane and 2 cup semi's, and a team with most games out to injuries to key players in the whole league.

Great post! I think in years to come Ange's status as not only a Tottenham legend, but a Premier League legend will only grow.

Only our fanbase, only our set of supporters could turn and hate on a manager who dared to do. A manager who perfectly encapsulated what it should be to be a Tottenham manager.

Called out the media ✅
Dared to do - "I'll stand you corrected m8888, I don't usually win in my second season, I always win in my second season" 💀💀💀
It's who we are mate 😍

Ange was our original Mourinho, he could have been our original Sir Alex...

But the media, rival fans and everyone anti Tottenham managed to manipulate and gaslight half of our SIMP fanbase into thinking he was the issue....

That's despite the previous 20+ years under Enic.... Many on here have me on ignore now and the rest and desperately avoiding welshman.

You're completely delusional Jack Russel! You just choose to pile in on the negatives rather than see the situation and Ange for what it was.

We have gone round so many times, but ultimately considering this season and how it has gone for 2 other managers we now know sacking Ange was the wrong decision. People are only now starting to realise the flaws in the squad that many before identified and had sympathy with Ange for what he was having to work with.

Speaking of "ignorant about the game" what would you have to say about someone who thought in August that Tottenham would be:

Playing for 2nd or 3rd is more realistic imo..I don't think we're quite up to Liverpool standard but we can certainly beat Chelsea and Woolwich. Definitely a CL place...

On the evidence it would appear that candrews candrews has a firmer grasp on all things Tottenham Hotspur than yourself? :davieshmm::D

Ah yes, the miraculous premier league achievement of finishing 5th and 17th with Tottenham and then failing to win a single match with Nottingham Forest and getting sacked from both clubs.

Premier league legend status locked in mate.
