Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I would like to see Conte stay and finish the project he has begun, but he is not doing Spurs a favor by deigning to coach them. He is being well compensated to do a job. In some ways he has made a good start, in others not as much. If he wants to be in Italy he should go to Italy. If he wants to finish what he started he should stay. Given the resources available to him he has not overachieved. If he goes then Paratici needs to be allowed to leave also. See the Italian experiment through or move on from it. Replacing Conte with another Seire A coach would not be progress.

The headline didn't bother me. His quotes in the presser bothered me

And, speaking about his return to Italy, albeit only briefly, Conte hinted that, though he loves the Premier League, it is a return to Italy that he truly pines for in the future.

“After Chelsea, this [Tottenham] is my second chapter in Premier League. The atmosphere at stadium is amazing, I love it — it’s so easy to fall in love with English football”, he explained.

“But you never forget your first love and Italy is always my first love”,
He's in Italy, talking to Italians as an Italian. It's a pretty fair comment in that context and honest. It's fair enough as he spent most of his life there. My parents were Irish but spent more time here than in Ireland, Ireland was always their first love though.

He must've said it in Italian during the presser as he didn't say it in English.

Ali Gold made a good point in his article about how it's ironic Conte is talking about needing stability yet it is his future which is in doubt and is probably playing a big part in the uncertainty surrounding the team.

I read the article and Gold just comes across as being bitter because the Italian journalists got to ask all the questions and the English ones were left to wait. It was fucking childish.

I agree with most of this, but:

Why should Conte out = Paratici out? .....They're not intrinsically linked.

Why should Conte out = no more Serie A managers? .....There's no correlation between Conte and the suggestion that the rest of them are shite.

Disagree, he spend 1/3 of conte and achieve similar results. If we gave him more time and money he would have done better

This season, he only spend 7m at roma, inheriting a squad that finished 7th , won a cup and currently 4th, among top 5 XG XGA across Europe.

If they failed to qualify to UCL i can see Chelsea snatching him for next season knowing how dreadful Potter is.
He spent more money than any Tottenham manager that came before him in our ENTIRE HISTORY!!! We paid him €16m a year making him the 2nd highest-paid manager in the World (ahead of Klopp). Despite this and being blessed as our first manager to compete with the best infrastructure in World football he utterly tanked. Finished BOTH seasons outside of CL places, THE ONLY TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED in 7 straight seasons. Took over a team that finished top 4 and runners up in CL and turned them into a team that finished 6th then 7th, winning fewer games, losing more games, earning fewer points, scoring fewer goals, conceding more goals, getting knocked out of FA Cup to relegated Norwich at home, and then to a woeful Everton the following season. His crowning moment came against European heavyweights the Butchers of Bulgaria fucking Plovdiv, who comprehensively outplayed us to give them their greatest ever football night and easily our most humiliating, oh and did you know their manager was in prison at the time!!

Conte is paying the price for following this dinosaur cunt. By inheriting all of his transfer cloggers. He also inherited the most unfit team in the entire league, something the dinosaur oversaw as he literally did ZERO fitness work with the players (he did exactly the same to Utd players).

No Club in Italy has spent more than Roma since his arrival!!!! Please stop this drivel!!!!! He's 4th because Juve has been docked 15pts!!!! Fucking hell!!! But I will say this again.....NO CLUB IN ITALY HAS SPENT MORE MONEY THAN ROMA SINCE HE ARRIVED. He inherited a team that finished 7th and he took them to 6th having managed just 1pt more but still finished below their bitter rivals Lazio while they toiled in a financial meltdown. He was hired to WIN THE LEAGUE, it's why they lavished so much money on his team, yet he ended the season 23 points behind the winners! He is the 3rd highest paid manager in the world. Oh and he's just been dumped out of the Coppa Italia by the bottom-of-the-table Cremonese (not won a single league game this season) at home. "He's a Winner".

The "trophy" he won was what? That one that no one can name without googling it? The one that no one even wants to be in.

Keep coming back with this nonsense and I will keep coming back with indisputable facts that show time and time again that he was shit.

Pochettino had put us into relegation form as he left. 25 points in his last 24 matches. Mourinho stopped the rot initially (you might like to call it new manager bounce) and then left us in the same state that Pochettino did. Conte has done great when he first came in (again new manager bounce I guess) but now we are going back to the similar state Pochettino left us in.

Very interestingly Davies and Dier have still somehow survived. It is mindboggling, hillarious and sad at the same time.

How many goals did Son have at this point last year and where would we be in the standings if we were to add even half of those goals?
I don't know how much of our troubles can be lumped on Conte.

It seems clear that Conte is going to see out his contract till the end of the season and go back to Italy. I feel he is resigned to the fact that he will not be able to achieve a trophy and, top 4 unlikely. At the start of the season we saw him yelling orders from the sidelines and very animated. Now he just stands silent, looking miserable.

Like most coaches that fail, I feel that he is laying the framework to save face and blame the club.

45 million for a player who has played a grand total of 14 games in the tin pot Portuguese league. Let's hope Porro isn't yet another dud.
Is there a clause that we don’t need to buy him if conte is not manager. This one could go the same way as glc and tanguy. Although they do have talent.

What are the odds that Conte goes to Real in the summer?

Ancelotti is leaving when his contract expires after all. And Real reportedly wanted Conte when they appointed Carlo.
