Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Which of our players “don’t give a fuck?”

I’m asking this honestly because I think many of our players are not good, but I’m not sure which ones are the “selfish” ones that Conte is talking about.
We only see them on match days for 90 minutes at a time; he sees them day in day out, sees how they react to good times, sees how they react to difficulty. If anything Conte is confirming what some of us already knew.

My point was that the rest of the world can see our player's flaws...you've just said it yourself. But it's hard to have convos like that on a board of happy clappers that keep reminding you how 'talented' players are and they'll get back to their best.

So what I'm saying is our supporters have a loser's mentality as well and Dele persistence with us was emblematic of it. As was wanting to keep Kane over the longer term health of the club. As was pretty much every move we've made since summer 2018. But the toxic support of underperforming or shit players is the worst.
I agree. The squad never recovered from the CL final. It should have been broken up, but we've just kept trying squeeze blood from the stone.

I think it’s a generalisation. All of them
Frankly I think that’s lazy and just a headline grabbing excuse from Conte. I don’t think we lost today because of selfish players, I think they worked hard, we just had diabolical defending and decision making.

I think plenty of them are just not good enough but I think Conte is choosing this approach because if he says they’re not good enough then he has to answer for the fact that he said he was happy with the squad after the summer window.

Just got back from the game.

Here's my tuppence worth:

I've never been pro Conte, this concept that he's an elite manager has never really worked with me. However, since he has been our manager I've wanted him to succeed because I support the club and the manager is central part of that.

He's a psychopath and the tactics are everything I expected from him.

One thing I have been waiting for since we appointed him has now been delivered. The comments about Levy, the club and the players is what I just wanted him to do. I'm glad he's done it and it's in the open. Those at fault don't get near enough stick in the public eye, we as fans know the problem but it's kept under wraps and the problems continue. The world needs to know it and Conte was always going to be the man to say what he thinks, without a filter. I'm glad he's done it. He's sealed his fate by doing so, but he doesn't care.

So for me he had delivered the one thing which I wanted him to.

Where we go from here now, I genuinely have no idea.

For yet another season I'm already looking forward to the summer and not watching us for a few months. It shouldn't be like this.

Conte will end in tears and when I say end, I mean in 2-3 months.

He won’t get the budget or players he requires, Kane won’t run enough for him and the rest of our squad aren’t very good.

We need a project manager and a long term vision, not yet another short term ‘fix’.
I told you all! I told you! This was back when he was appointed. Sure, he has been here longer than I had predicted but my point still stands.

You all gave me so much stick too.

Hiring ex-Chavski managers is not the Spurs Way. Should never have been, never will be.

They're certainly underperforming but look how many of our current and recent players have won league and cup trophies before, while or after Tottenham*. It's much more to do with the culture and limitations at Spurs with than their inherent attitude or laziness.

Bloody hell it's a long list, and this probably isn't exhaustive.

*Lloris
Romero
Perisic
Son
Eriksen
Trippier
Foyth
Capoue
Jannsen!
Moura
Porro
Spence
Lenglet
Vertonghen
Alderweireld
Dembele
Davinson Sanchez
Bentancur
It’s a daft argument because about to be added to this list at the end of the season is none other than one and only Tanguy Ndombele. Because he keeps getting on for the last 10 minutes of games for Napoli he will collect a Serie a winners medal when Napoli win the title. He’s a winner as many pundits like to say.

Just watched the whole thing, and I can say, without a flicker of doubt, that I have fallen deeply in love with this man.

Whatever happens, from here.... you will always be in my heart, Rantonio.

That's been due at Shinehead's door for a loooong, long time.

Knock knock mother fucker.

A lot of foreign fans underestimate the standard of football in the lower leagues. Dier can’t tackle, he’s a passive centre back and would get bullied. Sanchez is just a mess, physically top drawer but all over the place

He's right in that we've gotten used to failure. For me, the blame doesn't just lie with Levy. We need a clearout. Dier, Davies, Sanchez, Kane, Son, Lloris all need to go. Only Son and Kane are good enough but they've got the stink of loser on them.

Kane isn't a low effort/quality, inconsistent player but he is selfish, very selfish. For me the free kick situation has become a window into what kind of person he is.

We need the energy that Romero, Porro, Skipp and others bring to the team.

Nope. Nothing to do with Ndombele. Those are all players who contributed to titles.
