But...if we can get him, then we definitely should. He is simply the best manager available. You can pick holes in any candidate and you can with Conte, but he is a fantastic manager. Wasn't Chelsea a Mourinho shit-pile when he went there? He cleaned up one Jose mess, I'm sure he'd love to do it again! He took them from 10th to Champions, he's already got a head-start as we finished 7th...

You do realise Poch got the job mid-season right? And that Lille's squad was no slouch? Between the two I'd choose Conte, but the narrative that he lost Ligue 1 is bullshit. Tuchel did, and look at what he's doing at Chelsea...

They both did. PSG should walk through that league every year, but that’s also not their main focus. Poch saw off Barca and Bayern, that was the most important thing he did in the eyes of the club.

Conte is a top top manager. The one caveat about the last Mourinho mess he inherited, he got a quality squad of players, still more or less of title winning standard, had just downed tools after getting sick of Mourinho. He’s be inheriting a pile of shite in need of serious overhaul if he came here. Has he had that sort of challenge in his managerial career any time lately?
That's very true, he had much more to work with at Chelsea. Unless Levy sanctions the transfers that Conte would want, then we won't be much better off. Though I am guessing if Conte comes here, it's with very firm assurances re. transfers.
But he's probably going to Madrid anyway, that's my best guess.
