Would be all fine and dandy to boot the listed players.
but... Rose will be released. Kane will be sold. Dier, Winks and Dele leaving as well would leave us with ...??

Hart, Sessegnon, Skipp, Tanganga, Clarke as HG players?!?
Sorry (specially sorry for myself) but all of them are not leaving, it would not be realistic.

Considering all the factors (potential value mostly) I'd be most willing to keep Dier as 4th choice CB.

But Conte scares me a bit, to be honest.
The fact that he has completed more than 2 season only in leading club such as Juventus is really an omen.

He ain't gonna stick around for more than 2 years, seems quite obvious. So without DoF who would look at longer perspective, we just could not hire him. It would mean burning money.

That being said, I clearly prefer him to Howe, Potter, Parker, Ten Hag, Rodgers (not to mention likes of Martinez) and others alike. And I would prefer him over Poch as well at this point in time. Only maybe Ragnick I would personally prefer to Conte. Ofc Ragnic as DoF and Conte as coach (with former being able to take over as coach if needed) would be quite appealing, but most likely unrealistic.

2 years then back comes Poch. I have foreseen it :pochserious2:

I am exactly expecting and even eagerly expecting all of that. I want Conte for two seasons, and I think he's exactly the right person to shake this club up from top to bottom, and stubbornly refuse to be crap any longer.

I expect he's going to kidnap Levy's family and hold them to ransom for a transfer budget, and be exactly the right fiery person to not settle for scraps from Levy and Hitchen. I also expect he'll push Hitchen out quickly.

He'll also not spend two seasons trying to integrate his signings like Poch would. Conte is going to demand immediate impact, or he'll die trying

Then after his two seasons are up, I think the road has been officially paved for Poch to come back, absent most of those variables that failed him in the first place.

Dier isn't HG so not sure why he is included.

Meeting the HG issues is fairly easy, especially with us being in the European Conference League so loading up the squad with youth players is fine, club trained might be more difficult but doable.

For PL Rodon and Davies (if we keep him) are HG players so keep them and keep Doherty and you have:

Whiteman, Hart, Skipp, Tanaganga, Sessegnon, Rodon, Doherty, Davies for PL. For European Conference you can replace Rodon and Davies with guys like Lavinier, Scarlett, Eyoma to fill out the squad.

And we could easily add two HG guys in the transfer window.

True - for Man City or Liverpool but it almost certainly won’t work at Spurs
Why so?
SOMEONE has to work at Spurs...

We can't REALLY be expected to turn Ferguson into Gross, Clough into Sherwood, Klopp into Ardiles, although we DID turn Jose into AVB, and Poch into Steve Bruce, so you never know!

On paper, Conte will be the biggest manager we've ever signed. All other managers we reachable, Conte is reachable through circumstance.

All the big hitters have managers, he's left a title winning side because they're selling all his players, he's in much better form than Jose was in when he signed.

My heart wants Poch back but my head tells me Conte is similar to a Van Der Vaart signing, a different level of class we just do not offer or can expect having just finished 7th in the league.

If Conte comes I think Kane stays another season for sure.

Final thing about Conte people seem to be missing a little. He doesn't demand mega bucks for his teams nor does he want to join a team for a season or two. It's been mentioned he is more than happy to hang around. He wouldn't have left Inter if they had just kept his players the issue was expecting him to lose his top players not a lack of investment in new players.

Looks like this might actually be happening. He's legendary motivational skills and no slacking approach is just what this squad of underachievers and losers need.

He's got some challenge ahead of him. I can imagine his talk after the first training session....

"Lads, can you please be less shit?"

If he brings Lukaku and Eriksen back with him, (and convinces Kane to stay) then I'm all in...m
S'not much to ask, is it?

The things I like about Conte (at least from what I saw of him at Chelsea) is that he has his system and picks players who fit it. He likes his 3 at the back, he converted Victor Moses into a good right-wing back, as he obviously saw that he had the attributes to play the position in his system.

It's not all about money, he picks the right players for his team. And that would be a fantastic change for us to make as a club right now, as our transfer approach has been haphazard at best the past few years. A coach with a real method that is successful right here and now, with his choice of director of football getting in players that he wants for his system of play.

Levy, make it happen.

Having said that: Hoddle... AVB.... José.... Conte?

Our ex-Chelsea manager track record ain't great though, is it?

Imagine if Conte goes to United and he buys Kane

He won’t sign for just two years though.

He’ll demand a long contract, after which he’ll get in a fight with everyone like he did at every team he’s been at and will have to be fired.

Like Mourinho, it’ll be another money wasting exercise.
