This guy is fully on smoke and I love it

He is going to change the entire mentality of this fucking club whether we like it or not.
I like that's he doesn't just accept shit but on this occasion I can say I don't agree with him tbh.

Gooners played Leeds on Sunday and we played Pool on Sat so it's balanced out by the Burnly game being on Sunday and gooner scum playing on Monday.

He's seriously started making these noises and using 'we' and us. I was told he is fully on and Paratici has already closed a deal on a player significantly better than what we have starting. ( Don't ask me I don't know but it came from the Italian end).
Could be like when Wenger came to Woolwich ... he knew where to find the diamonds in French football like Vieira, Petit, Wiltord and got them while they were still cheap.

Anybody have access to Miguel Delaney's piece on the NLD for the Independent? Looks like there's a few interesting bits in there, but I can only read the first two paragraphs.

I am fully on board with his comments regarding the derby.

I agree that while we need to keep taking the derbies seriously, we also need to take that mentality and translate it to the rest of the games in a season as well. Otherwise we are going to keep having to focus on winning the derby for bragging rights because we pissed away wins against "smaller" teams like Norwich, Burnley and Brighton.

Take that derby day mentality, make sure that you approach the rest of the games in a season with the same mentality, and we are so much closer to winning silverware.

That's the difference between us and Liverpool/City. They play with the same intensity in every match, no matter the level of the opponent. Whereas we fight like mad dogs in games like Liverpool/City away and yet stroll about at home to Brighton. Same shit against Mura and Middlesbrough in the cups.

Fully agree with you re: what Conte said about the derby. It's three points the same as every other game. There shouldn't some special turbo-button that we press only when we play Woolwich. They need to give their best in every single game.

Bingo.

Derbies and big games are of course important. And there obviously are differences in finances between clubs. But if we can instill a mentality were every game is equally important to the entire squad, no matter the competition, we will take a big step forward towards becoming an actual winning team.

You got to take every opponent equally seriously. If you don't take it seriously when playing in the EL, why should you play in the CL?

But we could have pushed that game to Sunday evening hence a bit more recovery time, I think that's his point.

The Liverpool result at the weekend and the win tonight highlights the huge chasm between having an elite manager in Conte and a PE teacher in Arteta
