Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Just like to add that it will grate on us if Potter is a success since we didn't make his appointment happen though we had 3 chances to do so. Instead we went and appeased the masses with the "Appointments of Winners" so presumed adults from the peanut gallery that make statements like this...

You’ve had a shit with your trousers on

...can banter back and forth with opposing supporters as to which club has the most world classy manager. Instead, Chelsea made an appointment in the best interest of the club going forward - a little patience, a little investment, and we have a nice combination for success...something they've had a lot of.

Will be interesting to see which comes up roses and which sends the other respective club back to the manager gristmill. To be sure, the one thing we will be able to count on is that the same folks that got all three of those wrong will be the loudest fuckers in the next search...and will be wrong again. Here's to consistency.

Levy handcuffed Poch those last few years. It was a travesty.

Bearing in mind you highlighted the FBs comment.... Absolutely not.

LB: Contrary to the haters; Davies deputised excellently for Rose. We then went out and spent nr 30m (inc Onomah) on Sessengon.

RB: Walker forced our hand, but Poch froze Trippier out (his words!) and Poch chose Aurier (again his words!) ahead of Peirera and in his final season roled the dice on Foyth being our new #1 (even though his time was littered with injury issues and calamitous errors.

Anyway; not inclined to get drawn into bickering about net spends, but Poch trying to a force a system that we didn't have the players was very much a contributory factor in his downfall...

Despite all he did that was good here, it's remiss to cast him as a victim.

I think Poch could get CL spots with this current team.

Quite possibly... My point here isn't that he's a bad manager.

We didn't 'win' CL it was handed to us on a plate
Just such utter bullshit.

Look at how ended last season. After losing to Man Utd, we lost 1, drew 2 and won 10. You maintain that form over a whole season and you're probably winning the title. And even with that said, there were still only 2 points between us and Woolwich in the end.

It's fine you not liking Conte, but don't just start making stuff up to suit your agenda. This is the sort of stuff I'd expect to hear from Woolwich fans butthurt that we pipped them to 4th.

It was 8-2-1 after United. Still good obviously.

The squad is what it is at this point. Use what you have you can't tell me that the likes of skipp, bissouma, gil,Spence,Doherty, sarr couldn't of come on and made a difference at times this season. The problem is not giving people game time will bite you in the arse when you may be forced to use them due to injury yet they have no match sharpness and aren't ready when you throw them in. That will cost you games and points.

Exactly that.
Sorry but when you sign contract for club like Spurs, you cannot realistically expect that you have another Romero level CB or Perisic level LWB or Lloris level GK sitting on the bench just dying to get few minutes. Well, that is hardly case in any of the clubs, bar few super-rich / clubs with massive pull and history.

Likes of Sessegnon, Lenglet, Sanchez, Doherty, Spence, Skipp, Bissouma, Sarr might not be category A superstars, but they most definately are not shit. We have luxury of having Son, Kane, Kulusevski, Richarlidson to pick from to front-line, but that is not the case in other parts of the field.

Think whatever you need to feel warm at night my man. But focusing on just our results is a one-sided story. We didn't choke and we couldn't gift it to ourselves. Someone had to and someone actually did.

But so you feel better, we play great football, Conte is the greatest manager ever, we absolutely deserved top 4 and in no way were gifted it by Woolwich's choking, and we will win the league this season. Is there anything else the party would like me to believe? Actually save it. I prefer my own thoughts.

Big Sam is available on a free, but in all seriousness nobody is wanting Conte sacked.
The club has had so many set backs this would put us back even further.
I think the issue is that some are concerned that he might not stick around because of his nature.
I think now seeing how the team are struggling the scale of the job has shown there is quite a way to go.
Changing manager would just set the process back, which we can't afford to allow.
I want Conte sacked. He’s a manager who is always out for himself. As soon as Juve or PSG come calling, he’s gone.

We need a long term project to get behind. Attractive football, 4 at the back, high energy. I would take 2-3 years in the wilderness to get there too.

It’s what Man Utd are doing now. They won’t get CL football for a while but you can see what Ten Hag wants. Hate to admit it but same with Woolwich Bank. They play some great stuff now. Young, hungry squad of players who are growing together. Not a 53 year old Perisic in sight.

Conte is 3 at the back, rain or shine. It’s boring, negative football and he’s an angry man who wants to sign players for that system. The problem is, the very best teams don’t play 3 at the back. It’s screams “we’re unsure of ourselves so we will let you have the ball.”

But all opponents know this now. They make US play, and we don’t know what to do.

His football stinks. We all said this when he was at the Chavs. But now you’ve all changed your tune.

He needs to go.

He is doing what Poch did with Wimmer. What Mourinho did with Rodon. It’s not spite. He doesn’t think these players are currently better than the other options. Most of the time this proves true.

Fans do not see these players every day in training. If Spence can’t implement Conte’s tactical instructions, doesn’t show the right attitude, is not in top condition, whatever else, he is not going to play.

Conte already spelled this out earlier this season. He said Perisic, Lenglet and Richarlison understood his football very quickly and showed the right character. They started games quickly. For whatever reason Bissouma and Spence need more time to adapt.

If Emerson plays every game it’s because the manager thinks he is the best option to translate his ideas onto the pitch. That’s a depressing thought but it’s on Doherty and Spence to change the manager’s mind. Like Poch always used to say, the players are paid to train, not to play. No competent manager would select a player who is clearly worse in training than his rivals. Not for an important match.
Surely they can’t be that bad in training? I mean what do they actually do in training anyway. I’d rather have a half arsed spence in training playing in first team than royal who may well tick the boxes in traing but plays half arsed in firstbtean.

Still backing Conte, but he needs to earn that extension.

Not really expecting improvements until after the world cup. The next month will be a weird period.

Sorry but that is load of crap.

We have Son and Kane who are 30. We don't have time and resources to "build a project" we needed some real solution and right direction NOW.

Until we are winning, it is good. Sport is about result. And it is better to win ugly then lose beautifully.
Just issue is that if Conte goes on like he has in past 6 games, we ain't gonna win a lot of games. And then he will be sacked not before long. Cause with his approach, if there is no result there is nothing.

P.S pointing out Perisic age is so fucking pathetic and full-imbecile thing to say, that my eyes want to vomit. During Poch time, signings like this were exact piece of puzzle we needed. Some experienced top level players to up our level right away. Currently he is like 2 heads above all other fullbacks in the squad, even though lately he seems tired / overused.

Yeah, you just know he will play Perisic on the right
He even took him off a little early on Tuesday. You know he will play after what he said at press conference on Monday. No way he plays Doh or spence unless they are banging long range over head kicks into goal in training. Even then it would still wouldn’t be enough. Not sure how he knows Dohs not at sane level as last season if his not played. Only through match time minutes can you get up to speed.
