Richarlison is just so overrated imo. I think national teams are different setup and shouldn’t be used as comparison of how good/bad a player is.

Bissouma played well in some games before World Cup, maybe just need to find the right CM partner for him. Idk.

Perisic is meh, I would actually prefer if we tried to use him as AML to drop Son who is terrible, but that leaves us with Sessegnon at WB.

Romero idk, he played well last season under Conte.

Perisic is not even a good example to bash Conte with as they worked together at Inter before. But whatever...

This is my point.

If it’s a “project” then there will always be times when it seems hopeless and you either have the balls and conviction or you don’t.
Don’t matter which manager we choose it will happen.

Saying that, it may well be that a Conte project needs more expensive investment to succeed but also comes with the proven track record of winning.

We could go with a less proven manager and maybe it would be cheaper and still achieve the odd top 4. We’d just need to be real about what the actual ambition of the club is.

This Conte ‘proven track record’ of winning is beginning to grate. He had two seasons in England before we hired him. He succeeded Claudio Ranieri as league winning manager just before Klopp and Pep took off. Levy should have been focussing more when he was doing his due diligence on hiring Conte what happened in his second season at the Chavs.

I've seen Son under 5 managers over 8 seasons.

Conte's failure to get a tune out of him this season says more to me about Conte than it does about Son.

Motivation is such an underrated aspect of all professional endeavours. I'm not a psychic but so many of our players seem unhappy, right from the get go to to post match. Where is our team spirit. I wonder if life under the Conte-Levy era is miserable and players are just picking up a cheque.

When I saw the Woolwich team huddles it made me sad and jealous. I hate that. We used to have that togetherness.

Yeah they were, they just got called melts. Anyone who calls anything out before it happens on here gets shouted down & then you lot pretend they never said it, when they did. I wasn't even on the anti Conte train last season at all but there were definitely some who were.

Was definitely on it this season though, and distinctly remember you (and others) trying to brush us off when we were telling you that these results were coming because the early season performances were shit & we were scraping together points,. Well shock horror, all our chickens have come home to roost.

People 100% were saying that they could see signs it wasn't sustainable. I won't tag them as they may not want to be 'involved' but they existed and got attacked. We were very good in phases last season/the final chunk of the season but had periods where the football was still not good throughout the 90. People (including myself) expected us to build on those flashes this season but we haven't. At all.

And that became very obvious to me & others within the first 5/6 games of this season, but we were told the performances would come & results were all that mattered. But some 100% saw it even earlier than that because I distinctly remember the arguments they were in and the disagrees they got spammed with.

In the long run, I agree.

But in short term - come the fuck on... we conceded first goal for what, 9 or 10 games in a row.
Game after game after game, he knowingly surrenders midfield... and for what ?!? to keep forcing Son to start, even he is totally worthless in every possible sense...

I`ve been saying this for months - he has no tools to make us really work over 90 minutes, and EVERY decent team will already finish us off before we even start trying. He is making poor decision after poor decision and should just fuck off right away!

Look, we have been down this road before many times haven't we though?

The last season with Poch (CL run aside) we were all saying the same thing "He doesn't change anything" "Shit formation" "Never makes a sub" all the things we are saying about Conte.

We were getting dominated by teams towards the end of his run. Then skip forward a few, Jose comes.

Started well and as time goes on, same complaints, same EXACT complaints.

Now Conte, started well, ended last season in the top four, this year, same complaints. Isn't flexible, bad subs, shit formation etc.

Look, the reality imo is this, every recent manager we get seems to descend into some form of madness after the first season, shit starts going haywire and all the fans start throwing barbs at the manager and players and yet the thing that is CONSTANTLY overlooked is what impact things behind the scenes are having on everything.

Our owners don't know how to run a football club, that much is evident, they have no plan, they have no solution and I imagine that behind that curtain the lack of any cohesion creates a pretty poor foundation for success.

If I was a betting man I imagine it leaks on to the manager and the players and I think the number one priority is to remove the true rot from this football club and that rot is ENIC.

We are not an entertainment venue or an infrastructure project in the main, first and foremost we are a football club.

So yes, whilst I agree that on a micro scale, game to game, the manager and players should and could be doing better but I think the bigger picture is more important and has more impact than people care to admit.

Levy and Enic ARE the problem.
