Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

On Alasdair Gold’s video he says that Conte didn’t speak to his players at all after the game because he was so angry (he’s done that before). So the first they’d have heard of all this would have been from the press conference! He didn’t even have the balls to say it to their faces ffs!

He is not our biggest issue. He is not the right fit for us, that much is true, but so much is deeply wrong with our club. I've never seen it in my life where so many people just simply don't care about it anymore. My old man was going from knee high, watched us win the FA cup twice, and he just doesn't give a shit anymore. I don't think Poch coming back is gonna make the difference people think it will. I love him and if we have to have anyone next why not have him, but I still have PTSD over how horrendously badly he was backed whilst getting us playing ruthlessly well and more than proving himself as being a fucking fantastic manager. Even when he had money to spend, our scouting was fucking worthless. The summer of the season we came 2nd to Chelsea we spunked our money on Sissoko, Janssen and N'koudou, granted we also got Wanyama who was great in his first season with us (but also did fall apart from injuries, we only got 1 decent season out of him). Does anyone really believe any of those were players that Poch would have wanted, except for maybe Sissoko, but I don't reckon he did want him, I think we scrambled to sign him on deadline day because of a perceived lack of investment relative to our success the previous season, especially considering Leicester had won the title and many of our fans were quite rightly thinking, if they can do it, with the right investment we certainly could also.
Does anyone really think it's gonna change next season under a different manager? Paratici will probably go along with Conte due to this football ban that's part of the Juve thing, Levy will probably sign some incompetent fuckwit to put in charge of scouting and we'll get another Summer of signing players who aren't good enough and sit around on good wages doing fuck all for us, that no one then wants because they're not going to pay a fraction of what we did. There doesn't feel like there's any point being concerned with who is our current manager or who may replace him, while ENIC and Levy are around we will achieve fuck all.

Wanyama played under him at Southampton, didn’t he? he's about as sure a Poch signing as anyone. Sissoko was defo a club signing - last minute deal to appease the manager having missed out on Wijnaldum (iirc)

It must be remembered that the fans have expressed their criticism of the players on several occasions by booing them off the field at half time. Yes Levy and Conte must shoulder blame but so must the players they should not be losing to some of the much lesser talented teams like Southampton and Sheffield.

You do understand that some of those ‘worthless’ signings are on Poch.
He literally convinced N’Dombele to join. Pretty certain that Sessegnon was a Poch signing too.

Love the man but have enormous reservations about his ability to spot talent.
Managers shouldn't even be spotting talent. That's what scouting, recruitment and sporting directors are for.

The thing I can't get over is we legitimately played good football under Conte last season with a worse squad. This season, after he was backed in the summer (after the summer window he said he was happy with the squad), and had a preseason to work with the squad, our performances have, frankly, never been consistently good.

The only thing we have done consistently well all season is attacking set pieces, which is something he doesn't even coach.

Besides that? We have no style of play, we don't attack well, and we don't defend well.

This coach, who is one of the highest paid in the world, is supposed to make our team PLAY better and get better results. The longer he's been here the worse it's gotten.
100% been saying it for ages but get pulled up for it. Even when we’re winning early in season the performances on the whole were turd. Once you don’t get results playing that there is no way to hide. Ffs at least motivate the players so that they come out actually play rather than sleepwalk.

I’m pretty much done with this club this season, but I’ll 100% pack Spurs in this season if we fire Conte and hire Mason for the season. New low for me.

They’re all cowards if it’s true. Could you imagine any one of them saying it to Conte’s face like a man?

No chance. None at all.
Wonder if conte has told the players man to man? Has he told Sun you’ve played shite all season but don’t worry I’ll pick you anyway. Has he PEH don’t bother challenging just let players run past you I’ll still pick you. Royal don’t worry if your crosses reach Wembley you’ll still get picked as no 1 rwb.

The fact remains that, although he makes some pretty obvious points for us as supporters, Conte has not helped this situation with his stubbornness. He had the opportunity to kick on from a really positive finish to last season, yet his tactical tweaks have neutered some of our best players and left others out entirely, as he is unwilling to recognise his mistakes and amend them to get the best out of new signings and this mixed-bag of a squad.

If the players lacked the courage and passion to play before this presser, then that's at rock-bottom now. Best thing to do is bin him off now and hope a new manager curries some late solidarity to keep us in the top 4.

Please drop this myth once and for all.... It's been done to death. Poch's finger prints are all over our trf business during his time here.

Ndombele
GLC
Foyth
Aurier
Jansen
Llorente
Wanyama
.......All players who can easily be traced back to Poch.

.......And no; Wanyama didn't sign in the summer of 2017 either.

All true!

But we should have more money to spend now with the new stadium, wich i think have been proven with Conte being backed with around £200mil by now.

We do need to get that DOF right tho, no point in having money if the DOF sucks. Paratici is gone, or at least should be.
