Player Archie Gray

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Get him and Bergvall together in midfield and Madders roaming free. That’s our best and most creative 3. They all want to pass the ball forward.
Go to a back 3 with porro and Spence as wing backs and Solanke and Deki as our front two with Deki dropping into the 10.

No idea why so many people think Gray is our saviour in midfield. He has not been above average the few minutes he has been asked to play there, the Everton game being very glaring.

Even at Leeds, he rarely played in centre midfield in his sole season there, with two thirds of his appearances as right back.

Unproven in central midfield in the Championship, yet seen as the solution to our midfield in the Premier League.

So i dont get where these thoughts are coming from.

i dont think anyone is thinking hes going to immediately go in there and be the saviour, much like bergvall. they are going to be BIG players for us in 2-3 years time.

Which sort of suggests our recruitment strategy is terrible. Given we don't need big players 2-3 years down the line. We needed players to play at the top level now.
Gray hasn’t even been tried at CDM for us yet. There’s literally no way for us to tell if he’s a hit or a dud in that position- no one has given him the chance. Given how well he’s done elsewhere though, do you really think he would be a flop at CDM?

Perhaps, I mean Bergvall yes, definitely given his price. But the price we paid for Gray, that's a lot of resources to commit to long term.
yea we paid a chunk for gray, english tax and all that. but he does look good, i mean the pair of them are still kids. in a couple years they could be 100m plus players quite easily. they are already making an impact sooner than expected. i think they are exciting and im happy we have the pair of them.
