Match Back to basics Match Thread:. LIVERPOOL FC v TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR FC: Sunday, 4.30pm (aka: Tea-time) Deal with it!

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

For most Southerners (sensible people), tea time is mid afternoon when you drink tea and maybe have a bit of cake. There is also the ceremonial/celebration type of afternoon tea with a platter of sandwiches, cakes, pastries, sometimes alcohol.
For people from somewhere in the Midlands upwards tea is dinner, the evening meal. There is also something of a class divide in the naming of the evening meal.

Edit: there is official data 😂

I'm a southerner and I always asked my mam "what's for tea!".

As a lower-middle class kid in Norfolk in the 60s, we were too posh to have tea as our evening meal but not posh enough to have dinner (I never heard that term till I went to London in 1980, everyone I knew had dinner in the middle of the day).

It was supper for us. But yeah, tea time was somewhere between 4pm and 5pm. Tea and cake for grown ups, orange squash for the kids.

Another Southerner. We had dinner as our main, cooked evening meal most days, but we always had tea on Sunday evening, cause obviously you had Sunday lunch (roast) in the middle of the day. (Sunday tea was always bread and cheese followed by piles of shop bought cakes.)

Therefore ‘teatime´ for this match thread is correct.

Travelling from Germany to this. Unfortunately everything booked and planned since October, so no way to back out
:contehandshead:

Last time i went to anfield we beat them 2-0, Rafa and Luka scored.

Anyone knows where Spurs/ awayfans meet up before the game in Liverpool?

If Liverpool are suspect at the back ( I don't know ) then we might have a chance. Despite Richi not playing particularly well against Utd, he is a disruptive element and Kulu with fresh legs replacing him in the second half seemed to make sense.

We're really not gonna get in the top 4, may as well except it. Newcastle are flying and Utd have 2 games in hand...🤷‍♂️

Yeah top 4 is well and truly done and dusted now. 1 point from our two 6 pointers this last week made sure of that.

Tomorrow is now a 6 pointer for consolidation of 5th place.

Lose or draw and we are looking at the places below rather than up.

If it hadn't been for Wednesday's performance, I'd say we had zero hope.

But after the spirit shown on Wednesday, I think we've got a tiny bit of hope of getting something.

Funny old game.......just takes one performance like Wednesday second half and I'm well up for it again.

If were ever going to do it....now's the time.

I don't care if we've not got much to play for - it's Liverpool! That should be enough.
