Playing in Ange system where the full backs end up in midfield, yes.

He's a natural RB though and should return to that position under Frank.

Agree fully- Spence should be gaining confidence and insight at RB- where he can be the most naturally wide, overlapping FB, using his body to shield his dominant foot on the touchline.

Hes a nice backup LB to have though in case Udogie ends up being bought in a monster bid by Man City.

Never let us down in term of attitude and professionalism for sure. He’s a model pro.

But he was our 2nd choice left back nearly a decade ago and he’s still here clinging onto a squad place. Why aren’t we able to replace him with a better younger option? That’s what proper football clubs do.

This isn’t a charity, he’s not good enough. He should be thanked for his service and moved on for a better player.

Actually that's a bit of a mandela effect.

Here's his stats (games played) from Wikipedia

As you can see, he's played more than half the PL season's games in more than half of his PL seasons (6 out of 11) and even the ones he didn't, he was a couple of games off that. Average is 32.5 games per season.

You're talking about him like he's Joe Hart or Fraser Forster

There's also the fact that he's played LB with ever decreasing frequency for years and has played the majority of his games at CB for some time now.

On top of that, I really can’t think of the guy making many howlers that have contributed to us losing goals. He’s just a steady Eddie.

He's the kind of player that has played CB for Wales and Spurs probably over 100 times now, and people will still say "he's not a CB". Stick him a LWB and they'll say "He's not a LWB". Yes, he's not attracting Real Madrid, but he's absolutely guaranteed to step up.

Yeah he's just 7 out of 10 Ben

He's gonna be a backup to the backups who can cover either LCB or LB as well as being a wise old head in the changing room, and maybe start taking his first steps into coaching not a first choice starter. Either that or it's just been triggered to force Wrexham to cough up the dough.

I'm not sure why people are losing their heads tbh

As third choice, you ideally want a mix of promising young players, and senior players waning but with experience and a voice in the locker room.

We lack the latter, and Davies is integral to our locker room. I'd be happy to keep him, but also understand if he wants to move on.
