I say give the kid a chance in the early rounds of the FA & Cacabooboo Cup + Europa League. Couple games here & there in the PL too, if he shows his worth in the cups.

We already know what Big Frase's got to offer.

He's 25 now and made just 19 competitive senior apps (in Denmark / USA).
Similarly; Austin (also 25) has made just 35 senior apps (in Sweden).

.............I don't see how we can expect these lads to grow to the level that we can expect them to be start-worthy.

....We desperately need a new #2.

He should have been being loaned out for several seasons now. Might have gotten some money for him, or maybe he would be ready to be a real #2.

Another victim of the Levy/ENIC non-loan directive.

We’re not going to be able to get rid of an injured, 36(?) year old FF on 60k a week and we’re not going to sign a non-HG back-up keeper who might only play 1 game (as FF did last year) and take up a squad place that might be used for Neto or someone similarly useful.
Sadly, we’ve had squad management problems for years — although the new crop of young club-trained players might finally help get us out of this jail.

BTW, what’s the deal with Forster and his injury?

We won't know how the HG v non-HG numbers tally up until the end of the window, but I expect Ndombele, GLC, Emerson to be gone + Veliz on loan.... That's 4 non-HG out with a bunch of club trained coming through + Grey and Bergvall (so far the only non-HG) coming the other way.

The point in all this is if we can't trust our GK2 to play cups and early round EL games they're no use to us should Vic ever get injured.

this season the backup keeper will get lots of games if we last out in europe and the cups, at the moment austin looks miles away from being good enough
