Can’t really argue with that. There’s nothing that stands out with him. He’s quick but doesn’t use it enough. He wants to come to the ball more than run in behind. He plays to his weaknesses more than to his one strength.

thats because hes a wuss. if he actually used his speed he might be of some use. but to do that he has to be aggressive in his play, he isnt.

to be fair, he is what he is. hes a counter attacking forward thats been brought in to play in a possession based system, thats not his fault! his limitations should of been spotted by the so called football people who work at the club and sanctioned 50m to fly over to forest! its a double whammy really, not only does he not fit the system at all...hes not worth 50m even if we did play on the counter! horrendous business.

Gil is soft as fuck and nowhere near good enough. The wind blows him over. He’s all nice on the eye but offers fuck all. Johnson who I don’t rate hurts my eyes but you get some sort of goal output at least.
Never want to see Gil play for us. Get him sold.

Yeah he is. Johnson is probably more opportunistic and gets into better positions but he is a total breakdown everywhere else. Gil across his 43 appearances for Spurs has played the equivalent of 7 games. That is nowhere near enough football for a young 20 something to make any sort of impression, develop any sort of consistency or confidence. It wasn’t just last night, his cameos coming off the bench for Spurs this season you can see how much better he is on the ball and better suited to Ange’s possession based, shorting quick passing style than Johnson. I’m not saying he’s a world beater or anything, just a better player than Johnson who is so bad but glosses over his deficiencies with goals and assists. Richarlison also had an empty stats sheet but managed to turn it around once given a proper go.

Gill can't be doing it in training. if he was showing something in training he would have got more mins in matches
yes Gill ilooks nice on the ball, but falls over too easily, and his football work goes nowhere, nothing happens
with Johnson, yes he is weak not brave, poor finisher, but he gets into scoring positions
as many have said "why have we brought these 2 ?" this club has wasted so much money on players that have not worked out, in a normal business heads would have rolled

What even are some of these comments. People would rather have a players that seem to play better than someone that actually contributes goals and assists which is ultimately what matters. He definitely should improve his all-round game but people are seriously knocking him for getting into "good positions". That's a skill too. Why don't the other 100 wingers in the league who're worse than him get into "good positions"? He's pretty much our only winger who gets into the positions that our system wants our wingers to.
