Watching Gil come on for Lamela last night and the Sevilla fans loving everything Lamela brings made me think Gil still has a future at Spurs under the right manager.

We have basically established a symbiotic relationship with Sevilla where they are at either end of a player's career with us.

Note: They probably still manage to be the ones that win trophies despite us getting the peak years from the player.

Bryan Gill will only flourish in a possession based side who constantly move the ball quickly and sharply. You could see him fit into how city play but in our rigid 3-4-3 run up and down the pitch in straight lines formation then he is absolutely useless.
You sign players to fit into how you are going to play. Gill was never going to be a success for us. That might change depending who comes in and what style they play.

They were brilliant last night. They had a front three that were aggressive in how they pressed and direct when they got the ball. In Rakatic they still have a class midfielder who can control a game. They were exciting to watch.

That's the system more than the formation.

Enrique had Barca playing a much less rigid and more attacking 3-4-3. Amorim recently as well.

Which is an unreal turnaround from the humping I saw them get from Atleti

yea hes an actual footballer. no good in a shitty italian system that wants its main attacking threat to be fucking wingbacks.

Can’t even get a start in the carabou cup for spurs but starts against juventus and plays 100 minutes in the Europa semi finals for Sevilla.

We are an absolutely disgracefully run club.
TBF, vast majority of people on here don't want him at the club - nonsense about him being too lightweight and want him sold

EDIT: I love him and would love to see him play for us

Gil is just the sort of player Slot would love. High energy, creative and young so plenty of room for improvement.

It's a shame he never truly got a decent run in the side at left wing. Son has been off form all season yet we never once put a left winger in his place. We'd occasionally put Richarlison out there, who quite frankly isn't a left winger. But Gil seemed the most natural. To his credit, he done his best when played on the right, but it's obvious he's got an old school winger about him, happy to take you on and spin you inside out and he has brilliant delivery.
