Ex-Spurs Player Christian Eriksen

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Crikey, did you give Van Der Vaart get this much stick when he asked to leave?

We should be applauding Eriksen as a club legend and thanking him for his contribution. No kicking him up the arse on his way out the door.

The club failed to sell him in the summer. He hasn't gone on strike, he hasn't skipped training. The whole squads performances have been shite; not just him.

Fuck off.

He clearly has gone on strike. He's not putting in any effort AT ALL.

Burnt his bridges, and will never ever be a club legend.

I don't think you guys are fair. If you look back on the impact he had in the team.
I would be very happy if he stayed and became that player again. Mourinho might make it happen.
Fingers crossed.

Yes you are right about other players being poor but I don’t see anyone else jumping out of tackles.
Van der Vaart put in effort til the end and there were genuine family reasons why he asked to leave
Like Matt said, his marriage was collapsing, can't knock the guy for trying to keep his family together. He worked his socks off and even to date talks about 'us' when referring to Spurs. Would never have whored himself the way CE has. Poor to compare and shows how clueless you really are.

Those were totally different circumstances, he was having family issues at the time as well. He never started half-assing his performances because he was bored.

If he continued to put in a decent shift when he made an appearance and put in a good performance now and then for the past year plus, you would be right.

He has tainted his own legacy here.

For me, it seems fairly evident that he was a large contributing factor to unsettling the team.

Maybe it is just me, but a player not ditching games or practice should be the absolute bare minimum requirement, not used as a defense for them. It is what they do when they are there that is most important.

Here is the thing, nobody wants him at the moment. Or at least doesn't want him badly enough. The club cannot sell a player that almost nobody wants to buy, or to a club he would agree to.

Even if he didn't want out and hadn't been a useless turd on the pitch for the past 18 months, he would still not be a club legend.

Never at the level of the likes of Modric or Bale, 16/17 and 17/18 were his only 2 great seasons, before that he was inconsistent as fuck and since then he's been utter shite.

I honestly just want him gone. The way he downed tools and considering we have Mourinho who asks his attacking players to tackle and press and we all know how Eriksen is at that I just don’t see a future for him here.

that being said he was only £10m and I hope he gets the move he wants, nothing personal.
