Ex-Spurs Player Christian Eriksen

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

It’s criminal that we didn’t bring him back. It’s almost embarrassing all the Spurs fans that didn’t think he could have improved us. We would have bagged 4th if he returned in January.

Eriksen scores 1 goal vs Chelski and all of a sudden he's the savior. I am open to having him back but seeing people claim that Eriksen would have secured Spurs the 4th spot is ridiculous.

So you are saying that because of 1 goal vs Chelski today he alone would have so far secured Spurs 10 extra points in the EPL since February...?

Where have you got 10 points from? If we had Eriksen then I’m sure we would have got considerably more than 0 points against Burnley, Wolves and Southampton. We struggle to control games, we have a lack of depth (and quality) in centre midfield. He would have improved us a lot. I said about bringing him back before he joined Brentford, this isn’t a knee jerk reaction.

I don’t think anybody is saying that based on one goal, but before he signed for Brentford many of us felt that he would have been a good signing for us. We obviously don’t know how many points he would have won us, but he’s better than our current centre midfield options in my view and I’d much prefer to see him on free kicks than Kane.

There‘s a reason he went to Brentford, and it wasn’t for a perceived lack of quality. Neither Spurs or any larger club were willing to take a risk on him with his cardiac issue, but for a smaller club it could be a relatively low risk/very high reward which proved to be the case. I wouldn’t doubt more clubs might be in for him now, but that has to be taken in account.

Slowing us down a bit isn't always a bad thing.

That is blatantly untrue, though.

He wanted to PLAY with assuarances, which he could get from Brentford.

Who, btw, has Danish owners and a Danish manager who knows Chris from the Danish FA.

True, but I guess it’s one in the same. Other clubs aren’t going to make assurances on someone with something akin to a pacemaker. A larger club with potentially more on the line aren’t going to take that risk, I don’t think.
