On the subject of record-breaking transfers, Klopp had an infamous quote about Manchester United's signing of Paul Pogba in 2016. At the time Pogba was the most expensive footballer ever. He set the Red Devils back €105 million plus bonuses.

Here's what Klopp had to say about the transfer:

"Other clubs can go out and spend money and collect top players. I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money."

Oh give it a rest, you were saying the same shit about city last season. It’s okay to give others a bit of credit when it’s due. Yes they’ve overpaid and yes they could flop, but at this point of time it’s all ifs, buts and maybes. This place is as bad as RAWK sometimes

Agree. Credit should be given where its due. Theyve signed some good players.

I dont think theyve overpaid either. The market is just a bit crazy.

If Alisson is keeping Edersen out of the brazil team he should be pretty handy (no pun intended)

Liverpool will have a strong squad. They did last season and will have again.

Salah will do well to repeat last season's performances but in Keita and if they sign this Brazilian goalie they will be a big big threat, especially if both settle quickly.

I see no reason to belittle or deny other team's quality.

We were their equal and arguably better last season, despite their Champion"s League heroics but we must not and cannot rest on our laurels.

The same 6 clubs again in the mix and maybe 1 from the pack would be the quite easy prediction.
Yeah of course they have done good business, they are much stronger than last season.
Competition at the top will be more intense this season compared to the last one, I have them (dippers) and City as favourites but I think we have strong enough squad to challenge them.

Liverpool’s success requires Salah to repeat what he did last season. There is no chance that happens.

I wouldn't say 'no chance'. There is always a chance he could repeat the feat. However, I expect it to be a lot harder for him now. SURELY defenders will have worked out his game so he'll either just have to be exceptional at it, or adapt a bit.

Personally hope he gets fuck kicked out of him in the first game, and spends the rest of the season injured.

People said the same thing about Kane
Kane's breakout season was at age 21 - he scored 31 in all comps, 21 in the league. He then steadily improved every year.

Salah never scored more than 19 goals in all comps (15 in Seria A) prior to coming to Liverpool at the age of 25 and scoring 44 goals in all comps and 32 in the league. He is 14 months older than Kane and is not sneaking up on anyone this year - defenders will be much more prepared for him.

He's like the footballer version of Leicester.
