The Ricketts family has been crying broke to Cubs fans the last few years, trading their best players because they were too cheap to extend their contracts. Going from a Abramovich budget to a Ricketts budget would be the equivalent of Filet mingon to McDonald’s.

I think any hopes they will go down the pan are over (sadly). I’d just like to see them taken over by someone who runs it as a’ going concern’ - so not at a loss of 100-200m a year.

Don’t let them farm hundreds of players out on loan and effectively ruin good young players’ careers by keeping them in captivity just to prevent them playing for your rivals. Just have a squad of 25. Look at Abraham at Roma - he’s doing well now he has been freed. These sorts of players should be having good careers at clubs like Palace, Fulham etc.

And in time CFC will return to their proper level - in line with West Ham, Aston Villa, Everton and, yes Leeds.

LOL yeh as if the Rickety families views are the reason, BULLSHIT!!!!!!

It’s all about money, Chavs hate the idea of having an owner who is an investor and not a sugar daddy, nothing more. They had a gangster and best friend of a war criminal as their owner you really think their racist fans care about the views of the Rickett family.

Talk about taking people for idiots.

As long as it ends up being owners that under invest in players over the long term.

If the Ricketts lot fit that specific criteria, then they should be anointed. Make it so.

If they were to take the same approach of course? Aren’t they partnering up with someone else who has deeper pockets?

Not sure exactly how their bid works but In a few ways they remind me of ENIC/Levy.

-The fact that they cheap out on elite talent and settle for 2nd/3rd choices.

-As soon as they bought the Cubs they pumped hundreds of millions of into the neighborhood around the stadium with new restaurants, bars and even a hotel right across the street for the visiting teams to stay in. ‘Wrigleyville’ as we call is it a nice day out.

I think Tomo Tomo above described it very well. The Rickett’s would be investors, not a sugar daddy.

People saying their going to get out if are wrong. They are going to have to come off the roids. This is the best possible out come they will return to their natural 10 stone weakling state. They have got a hard readjustment coming.....

Spot on. Whoever takes it off has to remove that 100M per year roid injection which will see them drop off

FFS

Maybe we should just ask Chelsea's permission if we want to sanction anyone or penalise a club for FFP or anything in future.

You just knew they'd weasel out of any and all responsibility.

Tossers
Sanctions against roman and he won't get the funds

"Under the changed licence, proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the Premier League and then be distributed to the relevant party."

The PL /Govt don't see Romans money as dirty or Chelsea have done anything wrong. Chelsea are not sanctioned Roman is for being mates with Putin.

Don't let this make you think the PL or the government have suddenly found some morals, they don't care where the moneys from just as long as they get some.

They’ll probably get that debt written off somehow with no ramifications too I suspect.

Indeed. However grimey it all may seem on the surface; you can bet it's even more so underneath......

There's anything up to £3.5bn+ wrapped up in this situation and there'll be an abundance of all manner of pigs at the trough when it finally comes time to decide the exact fate of the proceeds.
