His "mates" who were with him will take the fall for this. They will admit they did everything and that saint Maguire was trying to be the peace maker.

They get the penalty's, whatever the Greek authorities may dish out, but that will be softened by the lovely new top end motors that they just happened to receive.

The following is from the Daily Fail, itself leeching on the Super Soaraway & other tabloids. From the alleged details, I suspect Slabhead's best defence to the charge of assaulting police officers is that he was, quite literally, blind drunk.

I'm not sure what defence he will run to the other widely reported charge of "serial abuse" of the Greek rozzers. Even if his sister was injured in the mass brawl, that is in no sense mitigation for abuse, or assault, of cops.

Still, it seems Greek justice may offer manure's captain the choice of three years in jail, or paying a £90,000 fine.

That's four years' salary for some people. And half a week's wages for Slabhead.

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire enjoyed a 'five-hour drinking session' racking up a bar bill rumoured to be around £63,000 before his alleged attack on a policeman while on a night out with pals on the Greek island of Mykonos, fresh reports claim.

The England international was arrested after being accused of punching an officer in a brawl which broke out after his sister, Daisy, was stabbed, it was claimed this weekend.

Maguire had flown to the party island after his side crashed out of the Europa League to Sevilla last Sunday and hit a series of bars and clubs with his entourage of friends and family over the days that followed.

Witnesses say they saw the defender spending thousands of pounds drinking expensive booze and eating lobster before the trouble is said to have erupted.

It comes amid claims from the vice-president of the Piraeus Bar Association that if Maguire, who appeared in court on Saturday, is convicted of the alleged assault, he could, theoretically, avoid three years in jail by paying daily fees, potentially totalling £90,000 - less than half of his weekly wage.

The 27-year-old was also charged with attempting to bribe an officer, with police sources denying reports this has been dropped.

Maguire and friends insist all they were trying to do was find out how much they could be fined, sources claim.

Witnesses claim to have seen the player and his crowd of friends' lavish spending on huge quantities of alcohol and food.

According to The Sun Maguire's entourage, which included Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley, Love Island star Chris Hughes and Snooker player Judd Trump, spent lavishly on food and drink.

Their bill included an £18,000 bottle of Dom Perignon Brut 2002, a £17,000 bottle of Armand de Brignac Champagn and £750 on several bottles of Jack Daniel's.

It's also claimed the stars purchased £1,200 worth of lobster, seven ribeye steaks totalling £820 along with meze platters and Wagyy beef rolls.

They racked up the bill while standing next £2,000 private-hire sunbeds.

A source told The Sun: 'Harry has been drinking like crazy since he arrived on Mykonos.

'He's been spending a fortune on booze and just doesn't seem to stop. He seemed upset about something. It was non-stop.'

It is also reported that Maguire mistook plain-clothed officers for a gang that had targeted him and his pals when he allegedly lashed out, having reportedly been told of his sister being stabbed.

A witness told The Sun: 'Harry went spare after seeing the blood on his sister and then it all kicked off big style.

'It was a nasty wound. Harry reacted just like anyone would if they saw a member of their family being attacked.'

Maguire was told on Saturday he was free to return to England despite having to face a hearing on Tuesday.

The father-of-two also learned that, if convicted, paying £90,000 - less than half his weekly wage - could see him avoid being sent to jail under a scheme to ease overcrowding in Greek prisons, the Mirror reports.

Leading lawyer Panagiotis Petropoulos, told the paper: 'The maximum theoretical sentencing could be up to seven-and-a-half years. It is understood the total would more likely be three years because a court would sentence concurrently.

'However, in the Greek penal system any sentence up to three years can be bought on a per day basis, meaning Mr Maguire can pay a set fee to avoid any jail time.'

Harry Maguire racked up a '£63,000 bar bill' before Mykonos brawl

Scum of a paper trying to make it about money rather than thuggery. So what if he spent thousands of pounds on the lash, it’s all relative to how much he earns. It’s irrelevant. What’s relevant is that the police were abused, people were acting like dicks and apparently his sister was stabbed. What kind of people were they with for that to happen?

Not worth the paper it’s written on

I can’t stress enough how much I dislike Maguire. On top of that I genuinely believe he is a shit player that thinks he is better than he is and that gets out of proportion love from the English media.

So far the spin is relentless. He was being abused by rival fans, they were tauting him over Munich 58, his sister was stabbed (??)

Fuck me, they're trying hard to make it look like he's actually not got drunk and got himself into a tear-up while on holiday. Instead it's Harry the hero, saving his sister and defending the honour of Man Utd.

He's a fucking one-paced carthorse who couldn't trap a bag of cement. Because he's English he gets the benefit of the 'he's an old fashioned English centre-half' argument.

I.E he's shit but he gets stuck in.
