Ignoring my own advice a few posts up... the whole "not all leave voters are dumb racists but..." thing is a game I could play all day. For instance, tighter borders mean less child prostitution and difficulty smuggling drugs. Ergo, "not all remain voters are drug smuggling pedophiles, but..."

Generalisations are bad m'kay*

:kanehand:

* unless about Woolwich, Chelsea or Spammer fans. Free pass there.

It probably also means higher levels of immigration from non-EU countries, therefore greater ethnic diversity of immigrants: but not all remain voters were racists

Specsavers Stadium taking them to that next level
:levylol:

That is very telling! We earned £4.5 from our 4 games at Wembley (CL) last year, that figure also takes into account the rent we paid too! But fuck me, imagine going to a new stadium, doubling the number of spectators but only generating £1.7m!! To put that into context, if they took an extra approx £9 per head per game at Upton Park they would have achieved the same. LOL

Also how odd is the retail and merchandising? They have a brand new superstore (two storeys high) which is rent free (ZERO operational running costs) and open 7 days a week (despite only renting the stadium for match days only!), what with all the buzz for their first year, people were queuing up to buy shit in there even on non-match days, (I live very close by and always saw people with WHU plastic shopping bags full of clobber), it's got a cafe in their too! Yet, they report almost the same revenues that they did the year before (unless of course they did a bumper year in their last year at Upton Park, what with their year long farewell bullshit(??).

Commercial activities is also odd: I don't think they have got any more money out of BetWay, think they came in last minute and got a knock down deal because of the other sponsor went bust. They don't have a sleeve partner, so struggling to see what else would cause it to rise.

What happened about that tax raid too?

No income tax, no VAT, no money back, no guarantee..............

Well, that's that sorted...
Following an incorrect and misleading article in a national newspaper today claiming that West Ham United are struggling to fill London Stadium, the Club would like to clarify the position for the benefit of our supporters.

London Stadium currently holds 66,000 seats. The capacity at present is restricted to 57,000 by licensing regulations, leaving 9,000 seats that must remain empty for every home match. In addition to this, there are always a number of Season Ticket Holders who are unable to attend specific matches for various reasons – an issue that every Premier League club is familiar with.

While this may give the impression that matches are not sold out, the fact is that all 57,000 seats are sold for every match. The Club have 52,000 supporters on the Season Ticket Waiting List – hence its wish to increase the capacity to 60,000 this season and 66,000 next season.

West Ham United encourage all Season Ticket Holders who are unable to attend to offer their tickets for resale on our Ticket Exchange facility, to enable their fellow supporters who wish to purchase tickets for matches to be able to do so.

Furthermore, in line with the Club's contractual and social commitment to our local community, a small number of tickets – 50 for most Premier League games, and more for friendlies and cup matches earlier in the season– are made available for free to Newham Council and its residents.

West Ham are extremely proud to represent the London borough of Newham, nationally and globally, and are fully committed to doing everything we can to support our local community

Dog Brady said they only rent the stadium for 19 days a year so all the extra days and stadium offices and shops surely should be charged as add ons????
If not the taxpayer is being screwed and whoever game them the extras as freebies needs prosecuting.....

Yep. They moved all of their "office staff" there too who work everyday of the week, Brady's office is also located there.

There's no end to how Karren Brady wishes to emulate Woolwich.

What a load of old bollocks. Why the claim that they give away only 50 seats per game to Newham Council when the terms of the loan stated it was thousands per match.

Liars

100.000 tickets per year for 100 years. You are a peer of the realm Brady and yet you just can’t help but spin and lie.

It took me minutes on the tube to google that simple fact. If you had 25 home games a year that’s an average of 4000 free tickets per match.

What makes all this worse is that it’s public money that props up this fucking sham. Maybe rather than float a myth about healthy profit they should pay back the tax payer loan that Newham gave them ? Just a thought.
