Everyone knows they need money, I'd expect most of their deals to drag on until the end. They might have to end up selling Bowen.

Apparently they're completely fucked with this relegation and won't have any money to spend on the squad after selling them off.

I think they will come back up but without their stars they will have big difficulties not getting relegated again. If Bowen, Fernandes, Summerville etc are all gone it’s not a prem team by which I mean they are more in a Burnley situation.

Itre

Irrespective of that, at least Bowen, as captain of his club sounds sincere, unlike some.

I doubt West Ham fans will begrudge him moving on if a bid is made for his services.

I could see Newcastle, or us moving for him. Slot can't talk high intensity and buy Bowen, who is more guile than fizz, but I could see how we could use him (no issue there with nonsensical talk of rivalry), but more likely a Howe-type signing, very different from Gordon but very steady.

I just don't think Bowen will go to a club he might think could struggle. Make no sense.

Fernandes will go for biggish money.
Easily north of 50m and if United are sniffing you can get 70m out of them
Castellanos should have a few suitors. He cost them 30m they should get at least 60m if Palace paid 50m for Strand Larsen
Summerville could fetch 35m-40m
Chuck in a few 10m-20m sales and they won't have any issue raising the short fall and still have Bowen on their books

West Ham just went down. They need money. In other words quite desperate.

They aren't getting those numbers from English clubs.

Palace were desperate, hence the Larsen outlay.

Bowen is more, than less likely to be bought.

I think they will bounce straight back up however I wonder how many of their fans now knowing the outcome, would have rather lost to us and just had it confirmed they were down in December, that hope of clawing back how many points and actually getting out of the drop zone to then get relegated with a win versus Leeds on the last game of the season......

That bit of hope must have absolutely killed them , I'll be honest though when they leap frogged us and we still had Villa and Chelsea to play I thought we were done, still for me the game they fucked up was Palace, they were on the lash the days before yet West Ham turned up hoping to get a point.

Hmmmmmm......

We allowed Frank to keep his job, lost to them, and from absolutely nowhere they clawed it all back while we melted (to use the heat of today).

I was close to losing hope but said to 3 or 4 mates, their run of Brentford, Newcastle and Woolwich was harder than people realised. It proved right. Then we found something, pretty much as Dyche said.

I don't think West Ham bounce back next season.

I just don't want us to go through that again. It was too much.

Thing is though, the Dippers situation weirdly reminds me of our own fall, if they don't change course fast, I think they might fall into the same trap we did.
I think a big club will be down there again in the next year or two although not Liverpool, could well be Everton again or Newcastle. As diabolical as we've been we only finished 8 pts behind both and feel we have a bit of momentum which they dont. I think the levelling off in standards in the prem is going to leave some of the bigger teams vunerable if they have poor seasons and the 3 that come up arent hopeless.

Agreed. The Prem is too good/strong as a whole now that no club really is too big to fail. Even serial money burners Chelsea had a proper down year this season. And we don't know how City will continue to operate now that Xiki is no longer running them.

All it takes is one bad couple of months for a club to be dancing with disaster.
