If you’re Coventry you have to be licking your chops at the prospect of playing Spurs. Absolutely zero game planning required, sit back, play a low block, let Spurs “dominate possession”, hit us on the counter or earn a corner and then hit us there.
And they probably hate us after '87. Everyone hates us because of something.
I'd play the entire second string except where the first team need minutes. The competition has no cachet. We've won it twice since the PL started (which is when all the kids these days start counting trophies) and no cares.

Same here. I don't get why anyone doesn't want us to try to win the league Cup. Is it so we can focus on finishing in the top ten in the league lol
The point of winning is to gain respect. Who the fuck respected us in '99 and '08? Or our Audi cups?
I could win a sprint with a bunch of 5 year olds, but no one would respect me either.
The whole thing is just a money-spinning exercise.
Focus on a competition that teams actuall take seriously. Like the FA cup. Or even the Europa League somewhat has respect these days.
But there's no reason not to focus on all three of those.
OK winning the League Cup doesn't have a lot of prestige and I'd rather the FA Cup or EL. But seriously, I'd love to win it regardless. I want Tottenham to win trophies. Being in the top six in the league and winning zero trophies has a lot less prestige connected to it.
Swap out Forster and Davies for Vic and VDV and that's a good side.
