Even though he ocassionally comes off second best, and like today just goes to clatter someone for fun, his ability to push out of defence and stuff out danger is such a vital tool for us.
Under Mou with Toby/Sanchez/Dier/Jan we just kept backing up all the fucking time. Teams were dribbling right through our back line, if not they could shoot from range with very little pressure.
his anticipating of danger is what makes him the quality defender he is. he snuffs out moves before they get a chance to really materialise for the oppo, and hes one of the very best at doing that.
i cant wait to watch us with him RCB and lenglet LCB, we will have actual ballers at the back then so the football as a whole will be so much better.
