On came South American 'Expert' Tim Vickery, who gave his views on Nunez and a few others. It came to some South American defender and the 'expert' said a South American Defender moving to the prem is not guaranteed, and used Romero as an example, he said "lets not forget how Romero was bullied by Michael Antonio of West Ham last season..

To be fair, in the first fixture Antonio gave Romero one of his toughest games of the season. So I wonder if Vickery was referring to that particular game as it was still early into Romero's Prem career.
But in the reverse fixture in March, Romero absolutely dominated him. No question about it. That game in general was one of Romero's best games for us.

IIRC.... Last season Romero was still on Atalanta wages as he was technically on loan. New season new = money as far as I can tell..... Perhaps we compensate him in back-pay within some kind of signing on fee this summer....?
Details out there have been both vague and in some cases contradictory, but sure there was some kind of club-derived comment recently that confirmed he had a purchase option that we would trigger within 12 months of the date he joined us on loan (so within the next couple of weeks).....
165kpw wouldn't suprise me though..... He was a pre-Conte signing for a team that had just finished 7th so there must have been something to entice him.
Gil: no idea, but yeh... Seems a bit high(*).
