Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I feel this narrative is overdone. Yes Romero, like most of his compatriots, probably sees the Argentina national team as the biggest honour, but he also surely knows that the best way to keep his place for Argentina is to get fit and perform for Spurs.

That said, he seems like quite an emotional guy, and perhaps the lack of connection with the fans does affect him.
Excellent point proved conclusively by lo Celso

Just no. Far below World class. As for Son and Kulu, having you been watching us lately?!
Yes. All the time. Kulu would have been our player of the season up until the last few games where he’s dropped off a bit, maybe tired from being overplayed. Maybe according to some on here he’s always been pants and has just found his level.

Son was previously world class but has dropped off a bit. This is what I said. Do you disagree with him being previously world class or that he’s dropped off a bit?

Clearly frozen out since he publicly criticised the owners blatant lack of ambition.

Legend.

Ok so if he plays again you’ll admit how stupid this comment is?

Son hasn’t been World class for a couple of years. World class means consistently turning up and having an impact in almost every game. Since he turned 30 his purple patches have become less frequent and shorter in duration. Kulu on the other hand had a good start to his Spurs career and then a big drop off last season. He again played well at the start of this season but has been poor for some time. Again World class is not constantly losing the ball and picking the wrong option in the final third which Kulu does a lot.

Some of it is age with Son but some of it has to be the fact that Son is now playing with inferior players compared to the quality in the Spurs starting 11 six to seven seasons ago and the way we now play.

Son is still good enough for the Premier League but no longer good enough to play 90 minutes twice a week.

The better players have been dragged down with the dross this season. Kane's goals were papering over a lot of this before the miser sold him.

You said it never happened. If you’re going to move the goal posts every time you get called out then that’s on you
I think you need to work on your reading comprehension. Romero has been shite for Tottenham - an undeniable fact.

Gonna add you to the dickhead list now so apologies if I don’t reply again
Great, I won't get drawn into talking to an online idiot - there's enough of that on here already.

Overall Son has been fantastic for our team. Who can forget some of his performances such as against Man City in CL quarter final? But Father Time catches up with everyone.

If we are being real, Son has never been world class. It's normal to overrate your own players but looking objectively it simply isn't true.

He could be considered an elite finisher from around 2020 but has always been streaky and inconsistent.

He's had 3 "elite" seasons in terms of G/As: 20-21, 21-22 and 23-24. Prior to that his numbers were decent but not spectacular.

Put even more simply, world class players don't spend their whole career at Spurs (see: Berbatov, Modric, Bale and Kane).

Damn- good memory- I had forgotten that. Either case I'm still surprised.
I wonder if Christian signed on for Nuno originally? I guess he must have been sold on the coach?
He was sold on the club as a project by Paratici. Romero had a semi public feud with Conte on social media.

We need to go back to recruiting players based on the club rather than players that want to be here because of a specific manager.

If Spurs had signed a top notch left winger, instead of Werner, Odebert and now Tel, 32 year old Son off the bench, for the last half hour, would have been a deadly weapon against tired legs.

Son is captain and starting games because of the tourists the miser wants at the megadome.

It's another non football decision that is contributing to the collapse we are witnessing.

Son is collateral damage to the miser and he would gladly take a transfer fee for him.

Watch it happen.
