and I don't think you appreciate how much time Romero had.
I quote you.
“When he did turn inside though he had the option of a pass out to the left - Archie Gray was completely open in the left back position. He then dithered for a second or 2,”
From the time he received the ball facing his own goal to the time it left his foot to Sarr you can see the time stamp showing 2 seconds has elapsed.
So you saying he dithered for 2 seconds tells me you have no idea the speed they are playing at.
Which is understandable.
Vast majority of people I speak to have never been professional footballers, definitely not elite ones, don’t coach professional footballers and have never been to any top level training sessions.
The speed they play at is just a different level. First time I went to a premier league training session I was blown away by the speed.
Tv cameras (especially high up views) just slow it down as our brain processes the information differently.
But here 58.40 Romero has turned to face away from his goal, and any decent coach is going to tell you not to try to make that pass to Gray. You really don’t think number 8? can intercept it???
And finally just watch the actual video and look at Archie gray.
He doesn’t make any type of movement to say give me the ball or adjust his body position because it’s never on. He’s pretty static tbh.
