Player Cristian Romero

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

it is funny when fans think hes one of the problems! hes one of the only players at the club who when they move will be moving upwards, think that says all you need to know! romero, VDV and probably muani, are the only players that if they moved tomorrow would go and play in a better team, scary shit really.
A lot of talk about him moving upwards. But why didn't it happen yet? Mysteriously, he's still here. He wants to go, but nobody wants him.

He's now captain, and we're fucking shit. Absolute fucking shit, and he's the worst player on top of that.

Does alright for Argentina winning world cups an that

Supported by an insanely talented squad. Easy to feel untouchable rolling like that. With us though, he doesn't seem to be that cunning, calm rock in defense that could help really galvanize us as a squad. He had a bad game today and will miss the next one, but he'll be back and hopefully have learned from this.

He wasn't trying to get Christmas off; he's too impulsive for such meticulously crafted plans. See Hanlon's Razor also.

And he always lives on the edge with his passes and tackling; that's what elevates him to a whole new level when everything clicks. He would be another Danso / Davies without those high risk high reward plays.

The pass was pointless though, mainly because there was little upside attached to it. Have to rewatch it, but don't think his target [RKM] had anybody in his close vicinity to connect with even had he got the ball. Would've been a quick turnover regardless.

And the second goal had nothing to do with him, what the hell? That's a foul, and not just in football either.

Wow... That's kind of a against the grain/climate take.

I mean.... People are pissed at the officiating; complaining that we as a club always take it lying down, but somehow our captain needs to hush up despite the VVDs of this world getting carte-blanch to continuously shit-talk and get in refs faces? ....Simultaneously our players routinely get called "pussies" that don't care?

Footballing blunders aside (and yes his kick-out was the architecture for his red card); Rom should just be a nice polite, subservient boy to the ref if he feels we're getting a massively raw deal?

Happens every match mate regardless of the validity of the decision, wasn't speaking specifically on this match. He is completely out of control emotionally when dealing with the officials 9 times out of 10, that is not the behavior of a leader or someone who is going to get their way in the rules based confines of the Premier League. This isn't a street fight.

VVD is a good example, yes he gets in the ref's face and tries to influence decisions but he does so in a composed manner, Romero on the other hand just completely loses his head every time.

M'thinks you are getting carried away with some of that rhetoric.

......But respect that you are understandably pissed about today's goings-on.

Exactly. Romero is a disaster as captain-attitude sucks, team morale suffers. Frank should've picked VDV or at least someone mature. As long as Romero leads, we're screwed.
He’s probably the most ‘senior’ player on the squad, which is why he’s captain.

Who would be better? Need a probably guaranteed starter to take over but who would that be? VdV is also hot-headed.

Like our subs, not much to choose from.

Vdv would be much better. Yes, hot headed, but in a different way. Romero is just rash, doesn't play with any fire, and is not a natural leader. Honestly , he comes across as rather dumb. All those mistakes, bad actions.. he isn't very smart.

But I understand the difficulty in bringing in someone less senior. However, quality, not seniority has to speak.
